Huge Improvement over last year's model
on February 23, 2017

I just received the 930E today and have spent about 7 hours with this thing. I originally went with last year's model (930D) but it had bad vertical banding issues. I spent about 30 days with the 930D so here are my first impressions of the 930E vs the 930D:
First off, the improvements brought to the table by the 930E are not subtle. The screen uniformity is perfect. And no vertical banding whatsoever. I was a bit underwhelmed with the blacks of the 940D but here they're much improved. And so far I've seen little or no clouding/haloing in dark scenes with light objects. If anything there may be a tiny bit of light bleed into the black bars on the top & bottom when watching a wide screen movie, but it's minimal and really only noticeable from an angle.
The thing that jumped out the most were the colors though. Unbelievable colors. I haven't watched any true HDR material yet but with SDR stuff it's shocking how amazing the colors are. It seems a bit warmer in color temperature than the 930D but this thing is some serious eye candy. There's more detail to the picture too.
The other thing I'll mention is the frame. This is a heavier tv I think because it's a sturdier metal frame. Last year's model had issues with bent panels. No worries with that here. It's a bit thicker too, which I like. It just feels sturdier. The stand is very cool too.
I hope I don't sound too much like a Sony homer but they crushed it with this tv!
My Best Buy number: 3515732732
I would recommend this to a friend!
