Crashed lost data and got a refurb unit to replace

I bought this unit as my 4th WD external drive. All the others are still going strong. This model, however, died after 8 months. I ran all the WD diagnostics and prayed, but it is dead. So now I have the fun task of returning to WD, which I have never had to do. Did you know there is no number to talk to anyone listed on their Contact Us page? And if you write an email requesting assistance from that same Contact Us page, no one responds? Oh and that they charge YOU to return a defective product they sold you? I am starting to hate these guys.
If you are considering buying this unit, better buy 2. All the 5 star reviews are true, easy setup, fast file transfer, etc, until it dies an early death. Then all the 1 star reviews are true. I didn't see anyone mention the poor customer service from WD yet so I thought I would mention it.
UPDATE: After being provided a phone # by WD, I called and got them to give me a RMA label that was postage paid. In return they sent me a REFURBISHED UNIT, not a new one. I am in negotiations to try and get a new one so I stand a better chance of not losing my data again to drive failure.

I have always used Western Digital external HDs for my backup needs. This 4T is the largest I have ever owned and I quickly backed up all my data from 3 other units. It was fast and easy using the USB3 ports. However, the drive just stopped. Diagnostics show 0k on the drive. I did some other recovery tricks and nothing, the drive is dead, although the power is on. Dissapointed doesnt begin to cover it, Plus WD require you to pay S/H costs to get a new unit under warranty, adding financial insult to injury. And hey, did you know there is no phone number anywhere on their site, and emails via Contact Us go unanswered? What is going on with this company?

Works great with HD Tivo w/ some install tweaking

Not a super audiophile here but wanted to share my install experiences with the LG Electronics LAS454B Soundbar, to be used with my older Series 3 / HD TiVo and my Acer Chromebook. Other reviewers have pretty accurately described how it sounds. This review is focused on clarifying some installation issues I encountered with my Tivo and Chromebook.
When I followed the set-up instructions I ran into a small snag and had to do some fiddling. I initially plugged the digital optical cable into my Sony TV as instructed. No sound came out. I then switched the plug to the back of my HD Tivo, and it works perfectly.
As others have explained, this bar really enhances the original sound of the TV. I also have my TiVo connected to a tuner and additional speakers, which are controlled by the TiVo remote. I have not yet figured out a way to use the Tivo remote to control the Soundbar. I disconnected the tuner and other speakers and it still didn't work. I believe all I was able to do was use the Tivo remote to turn up the volume on the TV. So get used to having two remotes so you can adjust the sound when watching TV using a Tivo.
I also was able to easily connect my Acer Chromebook via bluetooth by making sure I was within about 10 feet of the Soundbar. Once I am connected I can move back to the couch which is about 15 feet from the unit. Had to reread the install instructions and do some digging before I found that you need to use the "F" button on the Soundbar remote to switch between the Bluetooth input (my computer) back to the TiVo. I do have to re-pair the laptop each time I want to use it.
Bottom line is this Soundbar is a worthwhile investment to enhance listening experience, at least for my Sony TV. And of course anything is better than the speakers on my chromebook. What a treat to be able to stream music through the sound bar instead :D Feel free to ask any questions.

I bought this tv because it was an upgrade with HDR to my current LG 4K. I was so excited to watch 4k movies on it, but 1 minute into my movie the display had a little scramble. I figured it would go away as I kept watching but no it didn't, just about every 30 seconds it would have a slight scramble. I finished the first movie disappointed with glitches so I figured it was that movie but the second movie it did the same thing. It got annoying so I boxed the tv back up and now gona exchange it for a different brand. Hopefully the next tv will be better. I never had any problems with LG till now, once I run into a problems with a brand of tv. I will never buy that brand again.

I'm about to buy one and hope my FIOS 50mp will be fast enough wireless. I may try the LAN connection if I have any juddering.

Can this backup my iMac, and ALSO backup a second external hard drive? My iMac photo library is HUGE, so i want to move older pics to separate WD ext drive to freeup space on iMac for current files, but i want a backup of that 2nd WD drive+old photos.
I would advise caution. I used this drive to backup 3 backup sources, and it died after 8 months. You may want to keep all your original data sources in place and/or get another drive to backup this one.

I BOUGHT A WD EXTERNAL 4T MY CLOUD , I DID COONECT IT TO MY MAC AND FORMATTED IT AND TRANSFERRED MY DOCUMENTS MUSIC, VIDEOS ETC . AND IT WAS WORKING WITH NO PROBLEM ; IAND NOW WHEN I GO TO ATTACH IT MY PC DONT FIND IT??? CAN ANYONE HELP PLZ THANK U
Just happened to me as well. Turned out the drive died, and I have to pay s/h to return it to get a new one. This part sucks. Run the WD diagnostics app they gave you when you got the drive to see if yours is damaged. Mine showed there is 0b on the disk and that is why it isnt showing up. Its like it was never formatted.

Does anyone here know how well this TV works with the Xbox one S and Pro, does it support HDR, it's either this or the Samsung UN40KU6290FXZASKU that's on sale.
I am looking at both as well. They both SUPPORT HDR equipment but evidently are not HDR in themselves.
