Scanner is good for portable scanning needs for genealogy purpose for which it was purchased. It works well for my purposes in traveling to courthouses, historical societies, etc to scan documents for genealogical research.l

I would recommend this to a friend!

How well does this scanner work for color photos?
It does a good job scanning color and B&W items.

will this scan black & white negtives
Have not tried to use it for this. Suspect it will only if you have or purchase a "slide" carrier.

Does it use a standard USB A to B Cable as the USB cable?
yes, uses an USB cable.
