QUIET ONE
on November 29, 2015

I searched for a couple of weeks trying to find the quietest frdige I could as I couldn't stand another frige with whiny fans. Saw conflicting reviews on this model, but as more than one said it was quiet, I was interested. The no-clean condenser was also a plus, as we have cats.
Our new fridge arrived yesterday and I am quite pleased. The condenser was quiet and the large, low speed condenser fan made a pleasant, low pitched and barely audible sound, much like a big window fan on low.
Why only 4 stars? Well unfortunately, the freezer fan was making some noise when I first plugged the unit in and I had to pull the cover off the freezer fan and tuck some insulation back that was protruding and hitting the fan blades. Once this was done, all was quiet. I hope this was a one-off, but if the freezer fan is making noise, this was easy to fix. The cover pulls off from the top by pressing simultaneously on the top and side tabs (don't forget to pull the plug first!). An unfortunate glitch, but I was so happy with the fridge once this was taken care of all is forgiven!
For those interested in noise, smaller condenser fans in some fridges run at higher speeds and make a higher pitched and more irritating whine. If noise is your issue, look for a fridge with a larger, slower running fan like this fridge has and you'll be a Happy Camper like me!
I would recommend this to a friend!
