Remote Control Failure

After seven months, the power button on remote control failed to respond, yet all other control buttons continued to work properly. BEST BUY indicated that since I had purchased the remote with an Insignia TV, the remote was not covered by warranty, even though a warranty is available for the remote control if purchased separately. (Dubious response from Best Buy customer service.)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
