No more WiFi dead spots. The powerful Nighthawk DST AC1900 WiFi Router along with the DST WiFi adapter eliminates WiFi dead zones. Create additional WiFi coverage right where you want it. The DST Router comes with a year of worry-free set up and support from Geek Squad.

Large WIFI Router with Large Performance
on November 4, 2015
Posted by: Calvin
Pros: Fast, Lots of Indicator Lights, Great WIFI reception, Lots of Features, Ethernet of Powerline Adapter (DST Adapter)
Cons: Large
First and foremost, I received this product as part of the NETGEAR F&F program. And I am in no way affiliated with Netgear in anyway. I obtained this router as a replacement for my Linksys E4200.
My first impression was that this thing is huge in comparison with the Linksys. Fortunately, I have space to install this thing.
The setup was very straightforward. It was initially preprogrammed with a generic Netgear SSID and a custom WIFI password. I immediately changed that to match my Linksys setup and also changed the subnet as well. After that I just swap out the Linksys with the Netgear and voila! It works. So no problem there. The WIFI strength was significantly stronger than the Linksys due to the 3 large antennas. The Linksys didn't have any external antennas to boost reception.
I haven't figure out where to attach the DST module as I do not have a very large house. But I might just attach it for the fun of it. I also noticed that this is DD-WRT compatible. But from what I've read, the stock firmware is significantly faster than DD-WRT in terms of ipv4-nat because of the hardware acceleration. Because of that, I won't upgrade the firmware.
And since my house now has so many devices (Chromecast, smart-tvs, wifi security cameras, gopro's, laptops, tablets, and smart phones) that connects to the WIFI, the 1900 MHz of total bandwidth will definitely come in handy and I enjoy the fact this device has a 1 GHz dual core processor to handle all the load as well.
Only time will tell if this thing outlasts the Linksys. But with a 1 year Geek squad support, I might not have to worry about it too much.
I would recommend this to a friend!
