Bare-bones compilation of first Pokemon Season

Pokemon: Indigo League Complete Collection
This package comes with the entirety of season 1 in the anime. This set had several good things about it. First, it has a decent picture, with the only graininess coming from the original animation style. All of the episodes are in order and in good quality with sound and picture. Each disc has a different Pokemon on it, which is pretty nice as I enjoy disc art a lot. It seems as though the set comes with the complete, full-length Pokerap at the end. As an original Pokemon fan, I was really excited for this release. In the end however, it fell short of my expectations.
This set is a rather cheaply assembled collection and was a little disappointing for a few reasons. First, the set is just a box with all three of the regular dvd volume sets in it. It kind of feels a little lazy, but the box is quite sturdy. Next, the boxes did not contain any kind of episode listing, neither numbers nor names, so I had trouble finding out which discs had which episodes. The discs could have said "episodes 1-8" or had an insert list or something else to help select episodes but did not. The only help is where the boxes state the episode block for the box set, which is not very helpful. I had to use an online listing to find my favorite episodes. Finally, this set is missing the four banned episodes. These are the Beach episode with the Beauty Contest, the Porygon Episode, the Christmas Special with Jynx/Lapras, and the Safari Zone episode with Dratini. They could have edited these shows so they finally had a release, (but they didn't which is understandable). The real insult here, however, is the lack of the Christmas Special which did air in America, yet is absent. Additionally, there are no extras. A pretty bare-bones release if you ask me.

Yugioh Classic Complete Series (DvD)
This package comes with all episodes of Yugioh with Yugi Moto and company. This means Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, Noah's Ark, Battle City Championship, Waking the Dragons, Kaiba Grand Champ, Capsule Monsters, and Dawn of the Duel seasons all come in this box. In addition, it comes with the Bonds Beyond Time movie. I am surprised that it did not release with the Yugioh movie, but it is easy to find separately.
The case is really pretty, with a great looking gold cover and a clear plastic interior. The box is actually very compact and nicely made, holding 32 discs covering almost 87 hours of content. The episodes are the original that aired on TV, and are thus edited (Loaded with invisible guns, off-screen punches, and more). This is everything that I wanted from a Yugioh Complete Set. If you like Yugioh at all, it will not disappoint.

Great Anime, Good First English Release
on December 8, 2015

This release covers the first season of Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure, including the Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency sagas. This anime series is excellent and worth looking into for anyone that enjoys the genre. This is the first release of WB's dubbing. I was fearful at first, but the english dub is actually quite good (although I am still in love with the Japanese Audio). The series takes place in England, so the attempted English accents threw me off a bit at first, but I really enjoyed it. The subtitles are modeled very closely after the English dub and are fantastic. This release holds 26 episodes over three discs. It comes in a standard DvD box with a good quality sleeve. I was expecting this season to come with an optional Blu-Ray release, but there is only DvD. This season of the anime did originally had enough quality to warrant a Blu-Ray high definition release, but I digress.
The biggest problem of the set is the DvD menu. It is a low quality menu and does not seem to have music from the series. The menu is close to "boot-legging" standards, with grainy picture and odd music choice. The release only features the anime itself with no extras, such as a view into the opening/closing, or director notes, something I rather enjoy. The only other issue I have is the lack of English subtitles for the Japanese audio track. There are often minor differences between the Japanese and English dubs, making it necessary for a true Japanese viewing. The opening and ending songs did not receive subtitles or a translation either. The openings should have had an English translation subtitle. The ending is in English, but did not receive subtitles either.
Overall, the picture is good and had an excellent transition into English. While there are a few problems with the release, the anime itself is good enough to overcome these issues. All in all, I am very much looking forward to the follow-up season, Stardust Crusaders.
Pros:
Amazing Anime Content
English/Japanese Audio
Decent English Dubbing
Good English Subtitles (Also in Spanish!)
Decent Picture Quality
Gripes:
Dreadful Menu Screen
Opening and Ending Songs not Translated/Subbed
No Japanese Subtitles
No Direct English Translation Subtitles
Lack of a Blu-Ray option release
No Extras on Disc
