Although the movie was entertaining, it was a mere shadow of what it could and honestly SHOULD have been... a lot of the previous reviewers got it partially right.. Ultron is/ was one of the most powerful and diabolical villains the Avengers ever faced... this rendition... laughable at best! From the voice acting to the look of his armor to his nefarious plan... nothing comes close to what he was in the comics. And i'm not trying to come off as a fan boy... I don't mind poetic license but I would have enjoyed the movie better if they called him "Armor Suit" or anything but Ultron. There was... to me.... never a sense that the Avengers could actually lose to this clown. I say clown because he was voice acted as some weird Joker wannabe. Though, far less interesting a psychotic, and far less menacing. Really, when a sentient robot can't be as menacing as a flesh and blood person... there is no need for the robot. In the comics, Ultron is essentially indestructible (Adamantium) and although I know Marvel could not use THAT metal they do already have vibranium at their disposal... which would have made Ultron as strong as Captain America's shield.... and as such.. a true challenge. He was also much smarter in the comics and would not have been so easily defeated.. unless defeat was part of his ultimate plan... let's say to believably slip in a mole.. (Vision anyone?) into the Avengers midst. From the opening sequence which felt very "Capcom Avengers gamish" the movie felt half baked AND overdone at the same time. TOOOOO much action without enough care or concern for plot, direction or that something special that would help it stand up to the hype. It could easily have been more than it was.. it was easily outdone by the original Avengers and the Winter Soldier and sadly/ surprisingly given a run for the money by none other than Ant Man... and that quite simply should NOT have been the case.
When all is said and Done it IS a Marvel movie and it IS an Avengers movie so I have to like it... I only wished I could love it... and sadly, I can't! :(
