This is not my first tablet. I had a 7" previously but wanted something larger. I tried a 10" but it was bulky and heavy. So, 8" was a good compromise at a decent price. I don't play games or use any memory intensive apps. Facebook and email is as complicated as I get. This tablet is incredibly slow and locks up regularly. Very frustrating. It is also an odd size, making finding a case for it next to impossible unless you want one of the overpriced Insignia brand covers. Sorry, but this is going to back.

It isn't perfect. You CAN load .exe programs on this, but they will need to be small. This computer does not have blazing speed, even when surfing the internet. I'm not a gamer, so I didn't even try that. The HD screen is nice and clear. The keyboard snaps on and off easily with magnets that grab it when you get it close. It is nice that it does have two USB-A types on the keyboard, but the USB to charge with (on the tablet part), is the newer type USB-C. So you cannot use your older USB devices without an adapter. It is the only USB port on the tablet part. There is a micro SD card slot and micro HDMI port on the tablet part.
Now, my issues with this....It is heavy for a tablet. The window on the right side wants to fly out all of the time because you accidentally brushed some key lightly. The cap lock on the right side has odd spacing, you would probably get used to it after using for a while. The keyboard itself felt good, not so small that it is useless, like some smaller tablets with keyboards. The trackpad and screen were not smooth enough for my taste. I prefer a mouse anyway when using a keyboard. As a tablet, it would probably work better with a stylus. The battery is in the tablet part, so when you take the tablet off, it is very heavy and unbalanced. This makes it uncomfortable to hold, as the battery is not centered and the weight is all on one side. If you look at it in the store, make sure you hold it to get the feel for it and see if you can live with this. For this reason alone, I returned it. If you are going to use this more as a computer with the keyboard, go for it. If you are more interested in the tablet part, you might want to search elsewhere.
