Okay, low price, early Bruce Willis and directed by Blake Edwards-- what could be all that bad...well, just about everything. Here is Bruce riding on his TV fame and yet to be an action star...he is still in Moonlighting mode and little exhibited in range of acting. The movie seemed more like a TV movie of the week than a major motion picture-- most of the additional cast are from television. The plot plods alongs and quickly wears out its welcome...yeah yeah Kim Basinger drinks, easily gets drunk and then becomes obnoxious-- and comedy barely ensues. By the third act the film has totally derailed and really struggles to even remotely be funny. Edwards' direction was pedestrian and rote-- maybe he needed the money. The disc itself is passable-- not remastered, and nor should it ever be, Gone With The Wind it ain't...picture quality is good-- it has a very 80's vibe...the sound...well you can hear it...personally, this is for completists only...borrow a friend's copy and save money...
My Best Buy number: 2281988206
What's great about it: Low price
What's not so great: Very dated, contrived performances
Not Mr. Smith's best (but even his best may be an aquired taste). Kevin's Smith's foray into extremelty mundane commercial film. Enough said. The blu-ray itself is a slight improvement over the DVD version; the colours are bright and stable; contrast is decent. I would not pay more than $5 for it
