I had to do some research on Roc Marciano. I found out I had been listening to him far before even realizing he was leaving his mark on my visual auditory landscapes for quite some time. He used to be part of Flipmode Squad with Busta Rhymes. I really wonder how this dude didn't get any shine during that time. I also had to realize he was featured with artists such as Random Axe (Black Milk, Sean Price, and Guilty Simpson) amongst ripping the scene with some of my other favorite underground rappers like Willie The Kid and Action Bronson. This dude has been out here working! This album is a great introduction to Roc's stylings and jive-slick talking wordplay. Don't sleep-- the boy is NICE!

This album is a GEM. Roc Marciano bears a torch of old school East Coast Rap that was handed down from cats like Kool G. Rap, Raekwon, AZ, and such. His flow, although a bit monotone at times, is a true throwback to 90's era stylings. He has incredible visual wordplay that only the finest ears will sense. This album has the obscure intrigue of being produced without any drum-heavy bang or 808 kicks. Yet don't let that scare you away from bumping it in the ride. Its an underground classic!
