I have heard too many comments from friends on how great this device is. Picked one up and I have to say I was blown away with what you can do and the flexibility of this little device. If you are an on demand video buff this is what you want. The device setup on a Wi Fi network was very easy with on screen instructions to walk you through the setup. That set top box that the cable companies charge you for and the hefty cable bill is an option to cut off with this device. All you need is an active Amazon account and if you add in a Prime membership you set. You can binge watch movies and tv shows all day on a rainy day. Stock up on popcorn and enjoy the show. The only regret I have is not getting a bigger bowl for popcorn.

Incredible center channel speaker

I replaced an older Sony center channel speaker after upgrading my home theater system from a 5.1 to 7.2. Then I decided to go with the Klipsch R - 25c. Wow !!! what a big difference did it make on movies on Blu ray and DVD on how crisp and clear the audio is. Voices are stronger and more vibrant. Makes an excellent addition to a home theater setup.

Well done movie and worth picking up for any action fans. More grittier and darker plot with more blood and gore than the previous Judge Dredd. The actor Karl Urban did an excellent Judge Dredd. If you have a nice surround sound system your ears are in for a treat. Audio is optimized for a 7.1 setup and can be played on a 5.1 setup and still sounds incredible. Could not believe how sharp the audio was and must say a good movie to demo a surround sound system. Very good special features that go into the behind the scenes of the movie and the history of the Judge Dredd comics by the creators. There is also a prequel to the movie motion comic under the special features. If you have a 3D TV a 3D version of the movie is also included on the same disc. Just hope a Dredd 2 will be done.
What's great about it: Plot, Picture quality, Audio

Best Blu Ray player for Movies !!!

I had a Sony S-570 then upgraded to this model. I been sticking with the Sony models because from what I read go with a good manufacture that keeps up with thier updates on thier players and as new movies are released to disc. So far I am very impressed with this new model. What caught my intrest is how this player uses a Dual Core processor for faster loading times. When I first hooked the player up I tried the Avatar extended Blu Ray edition. On my older player it had some pretty long load times. On this new player thats gone. The disc loads up fast with very little pausing and gets you into the movie. I also tried some other Blu Ray discs I had that when reviewed had long loading times also and had no problems. If your looking for a good Blu Ray player to enjoy watching movies on your home theater I recommend this model. This model also lets you log into Facebook and has a Internet browser for surfing the internet. The downfall is your using the remote vs a keyboard for typing.
What's great about it: Loads Blu Ray movies fast.
What's not so great: No lighted power button on the player.

Finally Extended Edition on Blu Ray

I was happy to hear this to finally come out months ago to now be able to watch at home. Very nice box set. The box that holds the discs is designed like a novel. All 3 extended edtions are housed in the box in their own separate cases. As for the multiple discs if you goto the site THEDIGITALBITS.COM and read the detailed review that is listed you can see why the studios went with the multiple disc option and with the runtime on all 3 movies. The studios decided to let these movies have as much room as they can to breath on blu ray. The movies have alot of visual detail and audio. The more the video and audio is compressed on a disc is when you get a down grade in audio and video. This is the best blu ray set I have seen. picture and audio is stunning. On a big screen tv and surround sound system really makes these movies shine. So if your a fan of all 3 of these movies and have a blu ray player pick this set up while you can. The extended editions are the way to go. With more story in these movies is always a welcome for this series.
What's great about it: Picture,Sound,Story and Acting.

One word "Cool"

Watched the extended version of this movie on blu ray. When this movie was in theaters the reviwers did not praise this movie very well as they do always with action flicks. So I decided to skip the theaters and wait to pick the movie up on blu ray. I thought this was a good movie for what the movie was. If your a fan of video games,anime and The Matrix and can answer yes to all 3 then you will like the movie. The director is also the same director of 300 and The Watchmen movie. If your a fan of those movies is another reason to get this movie.With no spoilers given you must watch the movie from the begining to end. When I get a chance I want to give this movie another spin on rewatch. The blu ray is stunning and demo worthy material for a big screen home theater system. Some noticable grain in certain scenes. Seems those shots are intended by the director for a film quality look.
What's great about it: Picture,Sound and Story
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had seen this movie in theaters when it was released. I also owned the standard dvd of this movie. I had picked up a sony blu ray player to add into my surround system and I must say this movie looks excellent and like a new movie on blu ray. The quality of the transfer is excellent along with the sound. The soundtrack sounds excellent also on a surround sound system which was done by Alan Silvestri who did the sound track for the Judge Dredd movie. The only complaint is this is a barebones disc with no extras. The only option on the menu is play.
What's great about it: Hi Def image and sound.
What's not so great: Lack of extra features on the disc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent action movie to punt in your collection!

This movie was a an excellent action movie. Keeps you on the edge of your seat once the runaway train gets loose. Worth having on blu ray for picture and sound. The sub woofer on a home theater system gets a good workout on this movie. What I did like also was the director Tony Scott decided to not use no CGI effects when he did the movie.
All the action scenes with the train crashes looked more realistic. The movie was based on the events of a true story. If your an action movie fan pick this one up you will not be disapointed.

Tense and Gripping to the end !!!

Excellent revenge movie. Be warned this movie is very graphic as the original one of the same title was. All the actors in the movie were excellent. I have not seen a revenge flick this good in a long time. I must say when the movie is over I was having after thoughts of what I just watched. The way the movie is done is more of a drama movie crossed with horror. If your a fan of movies like the Chainsaw Massacure and Saw you will also enjoy this one. This movie was shot on location in Louisiana.
