Quality and lightweight system
on July 21, 2015

I received a Panasonic LUMIX G7 camera. All opinions are my own.
As someone who has a camera with me at all times, the struggle is always between whether I want quality pictures or I want lightweight options, because up until now there was no real compromise in my eyes. But, in my never-ending search for a lighter weight camera, I earmarked the Lumix G7 because it has interchangeable lenses as well as being mirrorless (which is quite possibly my favorite advance in cameras in the recent years). The fact that it has a touch-enabled screen so it is really user-friendly was the tipping point. But it wasn’t until I tried it that I truly fell in love.
The Lumix G7 totally blew me away in the DSLM (M= Mirrorless) category and took away the bulk and weight of traditional DSLRs without sacrificing image quality. In fact, it has so many features that I adore that it’s now my most-used camera because it can do everything I need but can fit easily in my purse or diaper bag for days out without the gear.
Some of my favorite features I didn’t even know I needed:
· The 4K shooting modes that allow you to shoot Ultra HD Video taken at up to 30 frames-per-second. Once you have your 4K file taken, you can extract individual frames and save them as an 8-megapixel still image right from the back of the camera so you never miss that perfect moment. No more head swapping in Photoshop because everyone blinked or looked away at the wrong moment because the 4K mode takes all the guesswork out of timing the perfect photo.
· The Micro 4/3 lens system that makes for some super tiny lenses that pack a big punch. While I don’t adore the lens it came with straight out of the box (14-42), I do love that it’s clear, it has good range, and it is impossibly small.
· The touch-enabled monitor will be your best friend. You can change most everything simply by touching the screen back and choosing settings from there, including selecting those 4K images for saving. You can also focus right from the screen so you can simply tap what you want crystal clear and let the camera do the rest.
· The iAuto setting that automatically adjusts and selects the correct scene setting so you can get the best picture on the fly. I’ve never tried an Auto setting I liked, even on my super expensive cameras I’ve owned or rented, but I truly love the iAuto setting on the Lumix G7 for life with fast-moving kids. I can simply flip on the camera, set it to iAuto and shoot away and I almost always end up with gorgeous shots.
· Built-in Wi-Fi to share all your beautiful photos on the fly. The Lumix G7 allows me to share right to my cell phone or tablet on the fly via the Lumix app.
While I could go on and on about all the features I love, in the interest of brevity, I should just say that I adore this camera. It allows me to capture that perfect moment easily, which is perfect for the adventures we go on as a family as well being a great secondary camera for work without adding 10 pounds to my gear. It is so small that it slips easily into my purse or backpack, which means I can always have it with me to grab at a moment’s notice. If you are sick of all the closed eye shots, or pictures where your child is a mere blur across the image but you can’t take a huge DSLR with you everywhere, you will adore this little camera as much as I do.
I would recommend this to a friend!
