At $349, and after two frustrating experiences with 1080p TVs and color shift, I brought this Chinese-made, Chinese government-owned brand home. When watching 4K programming, it is fantastic. However, be warned: as the programming resolution drops, so does the picture quality. Broadcast TV signals cause color shift issues as you go down from 1080p to 720p to 480p, getting progressively worse. Factory color settings are pretty good, and the TV has great advanced color setting adjustments. You might want to find a calibration tool/disc (Google it) but if you are either not too picky or adventurous and patient you may find a picture you are happy with on your own. I wish I could find a TV like the last one I bought six years ago, an LG 32LN5700, which had great color out of the box but developed a shadow spot in the lower right corner of the screen. I spent just over $500 on that when it was new and it was worth every penny. With this Hisense being $180 less and having a larger screen, I'll live with the issues and seek out as much high resolution programming as I can. Oh, one more little thing: no Crackle, no Hulu -- two of my favorite apps. Glad I can pull them in with my Apple TV and Sony Blu-Ray player. Hisense claims to be the #3 TV seller worldwide for 12 years running, and owns the Sharp and Toshiba brands now. They make refrigerators and other appliances too. If you can live with the fact the whole company is owned by the Chinese government, you'll probably be glad with what you got for the money you spent.
Enjoy outstanding color and rich visuals with this Sony 40-inch LED TV. A pair of HDMI inputs allow you to connect up consoles and DVD players so that you can enjoy full HD resolutions from your media, and the Motionflow XR 120 technology in this Sony 40-inch LED TV reduces blur for clear pictures.

As seems to be the case with most LED TVs these days, this Sony suffers from a bad case of color shift. Viewing the screen from even a 45 degree angle, a beautiful straight-on view turns into a washed-out, pinkish purplish haze. I have a 15 year old LED TV 720p with a better picture! It's been six years since I've had to buy a TV. I tried a Samsung before this. I've returned both, with the same picture quality problem. And there are limited color adjustment settings on both. Pick a TV that lets you fine tune colors and adjust white balance, and watch out for color shift, even on the 4K models!
