This was my first Fitbit years ago. Then I got a Fitbit One (very happy with it) and gave the Zip to my wife. Then I got a Fitbit HR about 18 months ago for the heart monitoring. Had to give the Fitbit One to the wife (she lost the Zip). Sorry to say, the Fitbit HR is not very accurate on the steps, so I wasn't completely satisfied (works great on heart monitoring, stairs, etc, just not on the steps). So BestBuy had a sale on the two pack of the zip and I ordered it. I have been comparing the steps on the HR and the Zip and the HR is consistently about 15% low. I check it by walking on my treadmill for 45 minutes and then compare. I think it probably has something to do with the positioning (arm versus pocket) and measures the arm movement instead of the legs. I would give the HR 4.5 stars (I got it mainly for the heart monitor and my doctor checks it on each visit) and the One and Zip 5 stars. I will put the HR in my pocket with the Zip and my wife's One and compare the three.

Does the fit bit zip tell the current time or can you also use it as a watch? Is there a simple necklace that could be worn with the fit bit zip?
All the fitbit models with a display will display the time. I don't think that the zip would be very effective when worn on a necklace due to the physics of the pedometer function. You should check with Fitbit on this.

Does it track number of sleep?
The Zip is a pedometer and the only thing it does is steps.The fitbit.com dashboard will estimate calories, etc. based on steps. The Zip has no sleep capability. For that you need the one of the higher models.

will this change to km from miles for use in Canada?
The fitbit.com dashboard allows you to set a lot of different settings (height, weight, stride length, etc.) and it also allows you to set how it displays measurements. You have to register and go online to set these setting, but you can make all your data private or you can share with friends.

It the clip included or must it be purchased separately?
The zip comes with a rubber holder that has a clip. You take it out of the holder to change the battery.
