It's ok and replaced my useless galaxy note 10.1 2
on June 4, 2014
Posted by: bienaime
In short, it's ok and has its own use.
I have been using Surface pro 256GB over a month.
Cannot compare with my iPad Air 32GB. Period.
But I love the stylus plus OneNote which is the sole purpose of using Surface Pro, which completely replaced my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 32GB. I bought the Note for the exact same usage as Surface Pro but the Note has a lot of lags and technically no (useful) apps in Android other than LectureNotes.
I use Surface Pro ONLY when I prepare lectures. Sometimes a single purpose of usage is well enough to buy. (I am considering Lenovo Helix or Sony Vaio Duo for the same purpose with a larger screen)
Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is sitting on the floor for trade-in or give-away.
iPad Air is the one I use for checking emails, weather, calendar, online banking, amazon prime, web-browsing... I used to carry all 3 but now only 2.
Surface pro screen could have been better. Power cover charging is inconsistent. A single Kickstand setting is horrible. The home button interferes a lot when I write with the pen/stylus.
In conclusion, Surface pro and iPad Air are not in the same category and Surface pro is NOT a tablet but a rather laptop replacement, especially a perfect replacement of Thinkpad x220t or x230t.
p.s.
Surface pro 3 has a new home button location and a larger screen, that's why I will trade-in my Surface Pro 256GB @ around $300 which is the Best Buy trade-in value.
What's great about it: OneNote with stylus
What's not so great: screen, windows 8.1, compatibility with power cover...
I would recommend this to a friend!

Deserves a Five Star
on March 9, 2013

For $189.99, it deserves a five star. I have been using a 23" acer past 4 years and this will replace it.
The image quality is good enough and the monitor is really light.
Speakers may not be great but good enough because the speakers on the monitor are not the primary for me.
HDMI is a must have.
But, menu buttons should have located at a better place.
All in all a good purchase and I am happy.
What's great about it: Quality for the price
What's not so great: may need some features including height adjustability
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Good Replacement of 10W and 5W Chargers
on December 24, 2012

I was looking for an extra charger for my New iPad because I use the one that came with the iPad in my office. I found this in Bestbuy and I had Mystery Reward of $10. I bought this paying about $10 and used it to charge my 4s. It really was quick. Just FYI, iPhone 4S charger is of 5W and New iPad charger is of 10W.
What's great about it: Little higher power, and smaller in size --> Faster charging
What's not so great: Nothing really

Picture quality is really BAD

Great ZOOM. But image quality was terrible.
I bought and tested about a week, and then returned it !
My friend (near professional) and I tested the camera using several different modes and the result was shockingly disappointing. I have a 4 year old digital camer - Sony Cybershot N2 (10mega pixels, ISO 1600, 3.0 LCD full touch screen).
The picture quality of the Canon was way way worse than that of Sony N2. Of course, N2 has one of the best image quality; however, come on, 4 year have passed... I am still looking for N2 replacement..
What's great about it: 14x zoom
What's not so great: picture quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Too Disappointed.....

I have a workstation with Xeon X5482 @3.2GHz I bought one and a half years ago paying a little bit over $5,000. Unfortunately, Q9550 is twice slow for my simulation (MATLAB)... twice... the workstation takes 11 hours and Q9550 takes 24 hours. Even my LENOVO laptop with T9400 takes 14 hours.. I was shocked.. SHOCKED.... That's it. If I could sell this CPU, I would do only for $150.... will NEVER recommend !!!
What's great about it: easy to install.. that's it.
What's not so great: So slow............. I cannot believe it
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
