In my last review for my Google Home I mentioned how I really like the no frills clean packaging and it shows once again from Google's Wifi system. Inside you see the 3 Wifi units and underneath is a quick start card along with 3 smaller boxes containing the power adapters for each of the 3 Wifi points.
Routers are almost always somewhat bulky with a wide footprint, multiple lights and tacky looking antennas sticking out of the unit. This Google Wifi system is the complete opposite of that and reminds me of the Google Home design except this is even smaller. Wires are connected underneath so the plug ends are hidden leading to a cleaner look and antennas are internal. There is a light indicating connection status which can be adjusted via Google Wifi app.
Setting up the initial Wifi point to act as my router is not difficult at all but unlike most routers in the market today that allow setup via desktop/laptop browser for instance, this Google system must be setup via mobile app with bluetooth enabled.
The system stated that 3 units would be needed for up to a 5000 sq. ft. place but I live in a 2200 sq. ft and still needed all 3 units for better signal quality. Each unit has to be setup via the app but at least it is made easier by scanning the QR codes labeled underneath each unit instead of entering the information manually.
I currently have a 200 MBPS speed package with Optimum and although the Google Wifi units report that the signals to and from the router is GOOD and the signal bar is maxed out, I am getting around 100 MBPS on the second floor. Testing the wired speed between my cable modem and Wifi router fetches 150 MBPS so there is a dropoff there as well. I was able to get 200 MBPS with my previous router. The hand-off of wifi connections to my iPhone or tablet is seamless from mesh unit to mesh unit as I move around the house,
Just like setting up the units required a mobile app, the same app must be used for managing your network settings for Google Wifi. It is very simplistic and would be great for beginners. The brightness level for each unit can adjusted here with the option to turn off the light completely. There are options for Port Forwarding, Family Wifi and prioritizing devices. With that being said moderate to advanced users would find Google Wifi very lacking settings wise. There are no options to manually configure Wifi channel, frequency or VPN for that matter. I did not see a MAC filter option which almost all home routers have.
This Google Wifi mesh system was just released to the public and is the lowest cost system in the market. Overall it is decent and has good potential going forward. My hope is that with improved firmware the speed will improve and they will allow more advanced configuration options.

Solid Sound Quality. Google Search! No Bluetooth.

Google Home was a breeze to set up. After plugging in the power I downloaded the Google Home app to activate the device. I am pleasantly surprised how good the audio quality is with such a small speaker as this. Music sounded crisp and relatively clean even at higher volumes. Our Google Home is situated in the dining room and it was able to hear my voice over in the next room and I found it's voice pick up to be solid.
You can turn off the microphone with the push of a button on the unit's rear and you can adjust the volume via capacitive touch on the top of the unit. I find the touch volume control is not sensitive enough and does not follow my finger swipe as well as I was hoping but it still works decent. Tapping the unit on the top mutes or pauses the unit too which I like.
My main gripe with Google Home is there is NO BLUETOOTH. With the speaker quality being so nice I was looking forward to syncing my iPhone so I could listen to my music collection but was disappointed to see that I cannot do that here. Google Home was newly released and costs more than $100 and that justifies bluetooth especially compared to Amazon Echo which offers this.
My wife and I were able to receive acceptable answers to most questions from the Google assistant and it did so very fast (about 1 second or less usually). Google assistant voice is very clear and concise when speaking and even reading off a couple of sentences at a time.
Currently you can only change the base color for the unit and not the top portion or whole speaker color but this is a minor issue.
Overall I think Google Home is aesthetically pleasing and has good potential moving forward. One of the best things going for this is that the assistant utilizes the Google search engine which is second to none.

My first thought upon opening the router's box and removing the contents was one of simplicity and ease. The good feelings continued on as I plugged in all my network connections and powered on the WRT AC3200. It was a breeze to set up and all I needed was the included printed quick start guide.
Build quality feels nice and it does not feel heavy when I hold the router in my hands but I do find the overall shape to be bulky.
The Linksys settings screen has a simple to navigate and clean user interface. I had no trouble tweaking wireless options, checking for firmware updates or changing the router password.
This router has the best range of all the routers I have ever used in my house. We have a 2200 Sq. Ft. house so it was important that signal coverage and wall penetration all around are excellent. I am getting 4 bars in the wireless indicator as opposed to 3 bars before. Link speeds are higher.
Wireless connection speed is not as fast as my previous router. I have a 109 MBPS Internet connection and I am getting anywhere from 70-90 MBPS on average on the second floor with the Linksys via 802.11AC while my previous router's output was about 109 using 802.11AC as well. Every speed test seems to show slower or faster speeds while my network is under zero load other than the speed test. Establishing a wireless connection to the router is not as fast as I would like and sometimes it has trouble connecting. Wired connections like my Xbox One or OOMA seem more on par and first floor wireless speeds seemed fine.
It comes down to wireless performance here as I am not getting speeds close to what I am supposed to and sometimes when I lose my wireless connection it isn't always quick to re-establish a connection. My hope is since this router came out this year (2016) there is still ample time to improve performance via Linksys firmware updates, WRT or DD-WRT patches.

I was in the market for an alarm clock radio to place on the nightstands in our bedrooms. I enjoy listening to music either from the broadcast radio or my iPhone library and it is important that the audio quality is very good. This iHome clock radio exceeded my expectations for something that costs less than $100. Establishing a bluetooth connection with my iPhone 6 was a breeze. At higher volumes the radio has very low distortion and the music pumping out is very clear. Bass is good too. The radio has a good weight to it and I love the metallic mesh grill in the front where the speakers are. Alarms are easy to set and starts at a lower volume and will gradually increase until you press the snooze or alarm button. I also like that you can adjust the display brightness and it can be turned off completely (which I do) for better sleep. Overall I love this radio's design, ease of use, sound quality and price. I plan to buy another one and highly recommend for people to give it a try.

I currently have a 802.11AC wireless router and my decision came down to buying an Amazon Fire TV or Google Chromecast since they both support wireless AC. I chose the Chromecast based on the price and supposed solid integrated software build. I am pleased to say that the Google Chromecast is simply great. It was a breeze installing it and I love how it remains hidden behind my TV while plugged in via USB. Being plugged in via USB is great since the Chromecast will only be on when the TV is on as well, saves energy. It does require more work to use since there is no remote and you have to use your smartphone, tablet or computer to initiate the content stream. I have gotten used to it and everything has been streamed seamlessly. I have ZERO disconnections so far. There are no ADS or commercials that Google pushes onto you; it is just straight to the content. I am a happy customer!

I was looking for a big enough USB drive to backup all of my pictures and videos and I came across this PNY 128GB USB. I transferred all my files over and there is room to spare. The write speeds are good and it did not take long for the copying process to complete. I am content with the build quality and price I paid for this PNY USB drive.

This TV was on sale for $699 and I purchased it to replace an older Samsung LED (UN55D7000LFXZA). It is now mounted to my wall and I could not be more pleased with the display quality. Blacks seem excellent and colors are vivid. The sound coming out of the TV speakers is the best I have heard for TV speaker quality. The remote is very simplistic and has an economy quality feel to it but it functions well enough for me and I cannot complain at these prices. The Samsung's built-in wireless AC is perfect and fast since I already use a 802.11AC router , so one less wire to plug in. All in all I am loving my new 4K Samsung HDTV and bought it at a great price. I had the TV delivered and the Best Buy crew were prompt and efficient.

In my previous review I had issues with wireless performance on my 2nd floor. Those issues have been resolved by moving my desktop's wireless adapter to a better location and changing the 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ frequencies to fixed channels. I have a 200 MBPS connection from Optimum and I am not getting that speed throughout my house. I have had great performance with past Linksys products and have not used them in a few years and I am glad to be back with them again. The router is still a little pricey for my tastes but with some tweaking after installation I can now recommend this router to everyone who is looking for top wired and wireless performance!

where is the usb port located?
USB port is located in the back. I have charged my iPhone 6 and Note 3 on it. I believe it charges at 2.1 amps as the iPhone and Note were charged quickly.

Does it come with a remote control.
No remote. I have three of these clock radios in my house and absolutely love them. Great price and design. Very good sound. It will be hard to find a remote for something this good at less than $100.

Can you charge a laptop
The clock radio only allows charging via its rear USB port. It is meant to charge phones mainly or even tablets. Any device that can charge via USB would work fine but a laptop requires charging via a wall adapter.
