My house has hardwood, linoleum, carpet, and a thick rug. The vacuum easily picked up everything. It was easy to assemble. The crevice tool is stored inside the wand. The packing instructions didn't indicate that. It is easy to discharge the dust from the canister but if the dust gets past the fill line, you may have to pull some out by hand. I really think it is a great value. My house is a smaller ranch. It is a solid performer with a good size to fit in a closet that is perfect for apartment dwellers, small to medium homes, and occasional users. I was considering spending money for a Dyson but this will meet my needs at a much more affordable price, it might be noisier than many others.

is it good on hard wood floors?
It worked on mine fine. There is a dial on the front to choose floor type. I used hardwood setting on my linoleum as well.

How much does it weigh? Can you vacuum a sofa with it?
