Reliable, Consistent Roast - Dependable

I have been a home coffee roaster for years, having used a converted bread machine for most of the time. Problem, my converted bread machine breaks down all the time (third one). Friend bought this for me, and quite frankly, it's awesome.

The only thing I don't like about it is the amount you can roast (about 2/3 cup of dry beans - approximately 1 pint of roasted).

Things I love: I have run this through the ringer, and it's still going strong. I don't have to constantly tend - set the timer and walk away. It has a built-in cooling cycle. If working with a new bean, takes me about 1 or 2 roasts before I get the perfect roast time. Best to start with longer roast time, watching the bean, and when you get it to where you want it, manually trigger the cool cycle and write down the time for future roasts.

In short, I love this roaster, and would highly recommend it. Very little mess compared to other roasting messes (has a cup and screen to capture the chaffe), and surprisingly little smoke - I roast inside now, and am able to do other things while its roasting. Strong, dependable, reliable. If you're looking to upgrade to a non-DIY roaster, highly recommended.
