Awesome Receiver

We replaced a Sony STR DG920 with the Yamaha RX-V477and what a pleasant surprise. We are hearing sounds we never heard before, what a difference. We had just purchased a Samsung 55" UN55H7150 TV and when we got home with the TV we found our Sony didn't support 3D. So, if we wanted to hear the movies through our home theater speakers we would need to upgrade. We went back to Bestbuy and talked to the salesman and he recommended the Yamaha RX-V477. I did a quick internet search, distortion, 0.09, customer review, 4.6, I was sold. Hooked up our new Yamaha receiver to our Sony blue ray, WOW, not only an awesome picture but also awesome sound. Lastly, very easy to hook up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had purchased the Pro Center 1000 a few months ago and was taken back by the sound and quality built center speaker. I was using my old Sony HT system speakers and what a difference the center speaker made. I then decided to purchase the Pro Mon 800 front speakers. Wow, just a wonderful sound flows from these speakers. I don't know if I will replace my rear speakers or not, but if I do, it will be with 2 more pro 800's. Money well spent. One more note, bass is actually quite good with these little speakers.
What's great about it: Sound and Quality
What's not so great: None at this time

Impressive

I was taken back by the sound quality even using my 6 year old speakers. I am impressed with not only the awesome sound, but the sound separation through all 5 speakers, even when the sound/music isn't 5.1. Quality appears to be good, with the exception of the little buttons under the GUI screen. It took me a while to figure out the settings for input but once I got that right, I am very happy with my purchase.
What's great about it: Sounds Great, big difference between this reciever and my old 6 year old Sony
What's not so great: Takes some time to understand all the features
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do you get a graphic volume display on an attached TV screen when adjusting volume with this receiver?
