Find out who's at your door, even when you're away from home. Just connect the doorbell via Wi-Fi and use the Ring app on your iOS or Android device to interact with visitors, receive alerts and review footage.

The Ring Doorbell is Junk
on November 18, 2015

This doorbell just does not work. The company falsely advertises it's product by putting a fake video and photo out there of what the product looks like. The video is horrible, it's a small round hole and is fisheye. Not like on their website or the box. The motion detection does not capture anything until people are walking away. The audio stops working about 5 seconds after starting, and sometimes doesn't work at all. The zones will capture cars driving by, after they have driven by, but not people, until they are walking away. Audio and video are not synchronized. When you complain about anything to the company, they just say it's your wifi or internet. In my case, that is not true at all. All have been tested and far exceed the bandwidth requirements of the product. The company is a horrible company, the product is a horrible product. I wonder how they got their good reviews, Hmmmm......
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Customer Service
By Noctis
When watching the installation video one of the first steps after removing the current doorbell, was to use the included caulking compound to plug the hole where the wires protruded. There was no included caulking compound in my packaging! When I called customer service, they put me on hold to find out why, and then came back with we no longer include that in our new packaging. When I asked why their instructions for installation, which is a YouTube video link from within their app, included those instructions, the customer service representative become noticeably hostile, and re-stated that the caulking compound was no longer included in the new packaging. A rather small issue mind you, but the attitude of customer service, convinced me that for a $200.00 device, it was not worth the trouble. I cannot attest to the functionality of the device, except to say that the iOS app has an error loop should you choose to enter your address manually as my automatically located address was incorrect.

Let us know how it works after you get it setup
November 23, 2015
Hoping you could add comment after you try to use this product. I have found that no matter how good the setup and environment is, quality of video and motion detection is very low. Connection seems to be hit and miss when you get a notification, no matter how quick you answer the notification.

Good luck with the wifi upgrade
November 23, 2015
Good luck with the wifi upgrade. I have a great wifi setup and the product is still complete useless junk. Anyway a wifi upgrade is always helpful, if not for this lousy product, all your other peripherals.
