Works fine, but a couple irritating things
on January 22, 2015

It works well, but there are a couple of things that keep me from giving it a 4 or 5 rating.
The inside is dark slate-grey and black, so even though it has an interior light, the light is mostly absorbed and you can't see well. It's like looking into a cave.
The Ez-on button to add 30 seconds only works by itself. You cannot, for example, select 1 beverage (two minutes) and then press the Ez-on to add 30 seconds. If you want 2:30, you must press 2-3-0 and then start, or press Ez-on 5 times.
The human-factors person must have been on vacation the days they decided these hings. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend, but only after they knew about my two little gripes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Faulty unit, cumbersome, lengthy warranty process
By Nora
I unpacked it gently, set it up, and turned it on. On the black screen a bright vertical purple line of faulty pixels from top to bottom in one area of the screen. I cannot take it back to Best Buy. Contacted Sony warranty support, spent most of an hour testing stuff. Then I was asked to take several pictures of the fault and model label, and email it to them. A full day later they replied that they would decide in one or two more business days. Assuming they finally decide to honor the warranty they will ship a replacement screen, and that's likely to take another week. The entire process is cumbersome, lengthy, and makes the customer jump through hoops. Maybe I'll eventually get a good TV out of this, but I'm not ever likely to buy another Sony, and certainly not at a place where I can't take it back.

Oops, Never mind. Best Buy took it back

I was badly informed about the Best Buy return policy on big TVs. They took the faulty unit back without difficulty, and I exchanged it for an identical unit.
