Spectacular Visuals, Audio? 4.5

Overall a must have addition to any action movie collection, especially the Marvel Series. Ulton exemplifies a main antagonist in the truest sense of the word. Audio is somewhat questionable. A bit lower than normal but once volume is raised, sound effects and LFE are good to go.
A must have and a must see.

Best AV Reciever in it's Class Under $1000.00

I got this unit to replace my previous Yamaha RX-V375 receiver which served me very well. What really prompted my upgrade was not only that the YAMAHA system lacked proper sound range reproduction but also power which became evident when I upgraded my surround speakers to the Andrew Jones SP-FS52, SP-C22 and SP-BS22-LR speakers (these speakers by far posses the most precise sound drivers under $500). I could hear the YAMAHA struggling to push the speakers as high, low and even mid frequencies would cut off or suddenly go flat during music or movie play.

After I installed the receiver I played my first Hollywood blockbuster movie with all the bells and whistles to see what the system could really do. The difference in sound quality between the two receivers was similar in comparison to night and day. This Pioneer system audio amplification is POWERFUL, CLEAN, SMOOTH and WARM. The video stream is CRYSTAL CLEAR. Seriously! I have several movies I use as benchmarks and when I played them with this receiver I not only HEARD but also FELT sound effects I previously did not with the YAMAHA.

Granted, the YAMAHA I replaced was a baby beginner’s grade in my book and YAMAHA does make great receivers, but I am an avid movie goer and a self trained audiophile who gets commissioned to consult on sound related projects for churches, auditoriums, events etc. so I know a good frequency reproduction when I hear it. This summer I saw way less movies and my Blu-Ray collection is getting substantially larger because of this system. The MCACC Advanced gives you so many automatic and manually adjustable options with regards to speaker floor plan, positioning, distance, number of audio channels, frequency adjustment, LFE crossover frequency, etc, etc, etc. Multi Zoning good to go. Remote control functions are simple and straight forward. Slick Black Finish.

If I had paid a $1000.00 or more for the system I would give it a 4. because there are some minor things I detect and will not mention because they are only minor and will in no way effectively diminish the overall experience of owing this system. Especially at this price.
Wish it also came with 2 coaxial and 2 optical ports instead one each. Not a deal breaker.

Bottom Line:

Awesome system at a great price. A great investment towards your home entertainment.
