I love this TV! Great OUT of the box!!

Had decided years ago that my nextTV would be OLED. A friend bought the top model of this series for nearly $8000 but not within my price range. I love my TV's but not as much as some of the AV hardcore's. So read all the reviews on this set described as the entry level of this LG OLED series. Universal reviews were all extremely high. Went to my local BB and saw it up close. The 55 not only a perfect size for me but also the center located stand meant that I could keep my current stand which I love. I watched and watched and finally got it at a reasonable price. Put it on my BB CC for reward certificate rather than no interest. Also took the long extended warranty. With OLED tech and TV cost really a no brainer having longest extended.
TV itself, simply put, I am ecstatic. Even though I could have bought curved 3d same price I decided I wanted neither, both fads to me. Out of box this TV had gorgeous picture, no calibration needed for me. Though I would normally have buyers remorse spending big bucks when many great 4K tv's out there much less expensive no problem here. I just love this set so much have no remorse. Had a problem programming my FIOS remote but finally realized you have to find good Verizon remote instructions and follow them meticulously. Once I did programmed perfectly. LG's own remote easy and love pointer. I am not one that wants to play with all these settings, and there are many if you want them. Standard is perfect out of box for me.
There is a plastic covering back top half of TV that I read about and couldn't figure what they were talking about removing. I kept looking saw nothing, one of those screen type packing coverage you peel off only back upper half. Finally a tiny piece bubbled and I realized had to peel this off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Deluxe no longer does shed C or Sced D added FEE or have to buy Premier to do what DELUXE used to. Going to try HR Block myself. THEY still include D in their program.

In all my years I think this is the first time I ever condemned a product I bought here. Bought this simply because less expensive than Rocketfish I normally buy. This stuff simply does not cut any finger oil etc just smears it!
Already new it was doing a terrible job on TV and computers but then I tried it on my New Ford Touch screen. Smeared screen so bad could barely use it. Was near BJ's at time so went in and found a $9 bottle of clean screen/ Went out to car one wipe screen was like new!! I threw this is GARBAGE. Wife wanted it to clean eye glasses, I refused, liable to think I am blind!

Learning Curve worth the it
on January 13, 2012

Went Mac a few years ago never looked back. Was given the trackpad as a Xmas gift the year. Already use a Magic Mouse which I like but had an issue with concerning battery usage. Apple engineers actually had me ship it to them for study, nada accomplished. Bought the Apple rechargeable battery pack when it came out and that made all good though shouldn't have had too. So was once again happy with Magic Mouse but was concerned about track pad having similar battery life issues. So far appears NOT. No matter I have good rechargeable ones Apple and made a couple more extra bucks on me.
I knew trackpad would be a love or hate nothing in between, thankfully turned out to be love. First week I was weeeeellll not so sure. My fingers being faster than my brain all kinds of weird things happening. But eventually my touch became accustomed to the sensitive nature of the beast and now wonder how I ever lived without it. I have a 24" desktop that I use it with and find it much less stress on my wrist and hand using trackpad versus any mouse. I also have a 15" Mac Pro that I seldom used the trackpad on since I used it far less and never spent the time " learning " the trackpad. My wife and I share the laptop and when she is signed on trackpad is not customized to use finger touch to click. When she asked me to check something found myself going OMG I have to actually PRESS the track pad, wow all that extra time and strength. When I am signed on to laptop naturally I now have touch click enabled.
Bottom line is it is a great accessory for many if you take the time to learn and get comfortable with it. This is one of those devices that once mastered is not to be lived without. But you must take the time to let your relationship evolve :)
Do not throw the your favorite mouse out though. There are some circumstances, 10%, that one might prefer a hard button push and a firm grip mouse. I do when doing video editing say to avoid an inadvertent click that might have big consequences. Also my wife uses desktop and no way she will spend any time learning my " fancy " devices. So I have three devices, logitec wireless for her, Magic Mouse for me, and trackpad all on desk. No big deal all bluetooth just reach for one you want.
A must with LION just such a great feel zipping around your screens etc. Tell me you don't feel like Tom Cruise in Minority Report zipping through computer and ungodly speeds :)

What's great about it: Enhanced features using Lion, easier on hand and wrist
What's not so great: learning curve and mastering that sensitive touch

Great savings

Wife and I have had these phones for almost two years. Great basic phone with good size keys. After years with Verizon, back to days of bag phones, it was crazy even with share programs to keep paying monthly rate. This since we seldom use phones, under 30 minutes a month counting both of us. For that kind of use we cut out annual costs for over $900 a year to $200 a year.
You have to buy prepaid minutes and keep them up to be active or you lose minutes and phone number. Solution is easy ONCE a year buy $100 phone card, those are good for ONE year. We use .25 a minute plan hence 400 minutes for year. When you get to date previous money carries over as long as you buy the next $100 card a couple days before previous expires. We always have money left over.
Phone itself works everywhere and same as any I ever had with Verizon plan. No not a smart phone but I am one of those older generation that really just wants to call someone when necessary. Not spend more than my monthly utility bill on my cellphone. I use wifi ITouch for many of those other functions anyway without any monthly subscription fees.
So if you think it is a tad silly to spend 2 grand a year to play on your phone etc this phone and prep[ay is definitely worth looking at.

Can't say enough GOOD things about
on April 23, 2011

Bought this camera as a replacement for Canon SD850 I have been using for several years. The 850 still performing great and now in hands of good friends, just wanted to treat myself to a new one.
Was hesitant to make purchase of a relatively new product without reviews at the time. I have come to rely heavily on these reviews and was concerned. I also worried that as a guy who is 6'2" and 213 lbs that camera would be way to small to handle as much thinner and smaller than already small 850. Turned out that this camera feels more comfortable in hand because of the slightly rough surface. I found this to be a plus over smooth surface since I feel I have a decent grip for a change. Of course I always still use wrist strap at all times just in case. One would be remiss not doing so with the small camera's of today.
The steel body also makes me feel confidant handling the camera body. Though small camera simply has feel of a solid well made piece of equipment. I am very happy and comfortable handling and even putting it in pants pocket uncased, though I do usually use a small case.
Pictures, most digital take good to great outdoor photo's, it is indoor and night that they really don't usually standup to the old film cameras. Well I haven't taken a lot of indoor low light yet but I did take NIGHT HANDHELD mode shots from a moving platform including movies. his on recent cruise coming back into Port Everglades Florida. Normal all I have ever gotten is a blurry mass of light. AMAZING I have night pictures and movies, and decent ones! I am so impressed I did a quick youtube presentation of some shots and movies, just 2 and a half minutes worth a peek. Remember even looking good there they lose some making movie to upload. On my screens WOW! Yes I rested camera on balcony rail most time but remember this is nighttime moving ship and some of objects are moving as well.

Battery life is also extremely good just as it was with the 850. I took pics and movies all day on trip no problem. Though start watching results and taking a lot of top HD and still no problem but you will drop a bar on camera battery level.
Lot better menu and control design than 850 in that taking movie simple one button push, display one button push, auto to mode switch not menu. Menus better organized and great modes actually do something as demonstrated by handheld night shots I took.
Screen well lit and easy to see, even not bad in many daylight situations accept bright sun, then heck point and shoot.
I am no photographer but I am a big picture taker selecting a few out of hundreds I will take on a trip. That is hard with this camera because almost all of them are great on auto just pointing and shooting.
Using 8gb hd chip plenty of room for pics but if you start using top HD setting for video it will eat chip up. I solve this by using second HD quality setting which produces great video as well with much smaller file. If you were planing to use top HD setting you might want to consider 16gb chip.
I can't say enough good things about this camera. Price was right too on sale even. Don't tell BB but knowing what I know now I would pay retail for this baby.
What's great about it: Picture quality, camera body quality strong feel, NIGHT shots and movie ability, controls
What's not so great: Honestly nothing noted so far after 1 week vacation constant use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love Da Mouse
on January 20, 2010

Reading the prior reviews I was confused by a couple of " good battery life " comments and " slow scroll " comments. I am using mouse on Mac 24 w/Snow Leopard and this appears to be the difference between my excellent scrolling abilities and those encountering slow scrolling, the software. No scrolling problems with later software, in fact amazing scrolling and multitouch.
Battery life jury is still out for me but so far not so great. Batteries that came with mouse lasted 3 weeks before indicating 15%. My own fresh batteries installed Jan 11 are at 55% today Jan 20, 9 days. Mouse is used heavily much of day and I never turn it off by off button. Mouse does go into sleep mode after period of non-use it says in documentation.
Blue tooth is great and works without a hitch. I was concerned since I purchased a previous Blue Tooth mouse a while back made by non Apple vendor and it was horrific both in use and in connecting to bluetooth constantly disconnecting. I am happy to say Magic has no problems in that regard.
In summary, love the mouse! If battery consumption remains high, so be it, worth every battery I put in it. Could be a little better priced but after more than a year of being a Mac guy versus 20 plus years of being a PC guy I really don't mind paying more simply because, unique now a days, you actually get so much more. Quality products, enhanced usability, just a darn pleasure using Mac's and Mac products.
What's great about it: Design, ability to touch easily for commands, sleek appearance
What's not so great: Battery consumption

Not as Bad as lead to believe

When I went from Windows to Mac's the only MUST was getting accumulated date for 15 years over to Mac version Quicken. Read many horror stories but decided had enough Windows to last a lifetime and took a chance.
Hated paying MORE, 69;95 for program I usually bought for much less but bit the bullet what choice do you have?
I won't say that carrying over data was easy but not as horrible as I had read. Upon checking accuracy of data did find a couple small errors but eventually got everything sorted out way I needed and accurately,
Having used it for 7 months now I find I actually like it better that Windows version though operates considerably different menu wise.
I would say this, if continuing to use Quicken is only thing holding you back from changing over to Apple do yourself a favor and make the change. I love my Mac and I can live with this Quicken just fine and I do a LOT of financial especially stock on it. I DO NOT upload directly from banks though preferring to manually add and therefore cross check data keeping others programs from downloading info to my books.
What's great about it: Tracks multiple accounts and numerous stock transactions
What's not so great: initial download from MSFT version

Pleasure of computing renewed

20 plus years of Windows, and constant pain of upgrades that mess up all my settings. Constant calls from friends needing constant repairs and tweaks from me the resident Windows guy. Hours spent getting things to work rather than working. ALL replaced in one swell swoop finally having enough and buying a Mac.
Two weeks of getting used to, how do I do this, NAW can't be that darn easy! PC's shipped off to needy NEVER AGAIN. 25th wedding anniversary approaches, she wants diamond, fine. Me, get me an Apple laptop to replace that Windows mess downstairs honey!!!
I have lost Windows friends over past 7 months since changing to Apple and raving about Mac, was worth it.
What's great about it: You name it all wonderful after PC frustration
What's not so great: Price we all would naturally like to get it for less but then you would get less.

Battery life BAD to WORSE than BAD
July 31, 2010
I have previously reviewed this Mouse to the positive. I love look, feel, and operation, but know that it comes at a cost of batteries far out of line with other mice.

With 3-6 hour use 30 to 14 day battery life. Read the tread with over 23,000 views.
