One of my favorite movies is All Of Me. I just loved the interplay between Martin and the other actors. Steve and Lily Tomlin should have made more movies together. Their charactors grow and change through the experiences together. In L.A. Story Martin goes serious and cynical at times, which is fun to watch. I still like the ligher side of the story better. In Novocaine, Martin's character goes dark, maybe too dark in his humor. The movie is the lest liked of this series. If you enjoyed this DVD package, then you should consider the other three movie set that Best Buy sells.
What's great about it: Wide range of characters for Martin to play.
What's not so great: Martin may have gone too serious on us for awhile.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This three movie set is a nice package of Martin's earlier and sillier work. He is all over the place doing his physical humor in The Jerk. In Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, Martin uses less physical humor and more narration to carry the story. He also uses the film editors to clip old classic black and white movies into his story. The idea sounds good, but doesn't work that well. In the Lonely Guy he slows down the action and let's his narration carry the story - less visual. Maybe more of his acting ability is shown. There is another three movie set that is available that goes well with this one. Both sets are should haves for Steve Martin lovers.
This first set maybe too odd for a person who hasn't followed Martin's career.
What's great about it: This DVD is a good addition to your collection. These are good movies of Martin's earlier and sillier work.
What's not so great: These movies maybe too odd for a person who hasn't followed Martin's career.
