No different than any other smartwatch

The rotating bezel may be great for most, especially if you are a person that does not work out on a regular basis. But if you do work out regularly, somehow, some way, that bezel if going to interfere with your workout. It's going to make contact with something - equipment or you - that will have it changing whatever screen you may be on. For example, Endomondo. If not that, the fact that the watch is so pretty will keep you too pre-occupied with not damaging it or at least scratching it or the screen. And if you find battery to be a premium, don't buy it. It will drain quickly, especially keeping things on and at optimum levels. Seriously, why make a watch that you have to keep the screen on low, keep the screen off, and monitor several other things to preserve battery? Why make the watch if you have to utilize it at minimum levels on several fronts? And if you are all day the type of person that gets a ton of text, emails, and you use the unit to listen to music, respond to text and emails on it, and you answer calls on it, make certain you take the charger with you. LG Urbane was released with a 400 mah battery several years ago, and companies are still making these watches with very similar battery specs. It is purposeful in order to keep the consumer upgrading it as they do their phones. Ridiculous.

Excellent upgrade

Looks and feels more premium than previous Fenix watches. More flush with the wrist. Strap is a bit smaller, softer, and more flexible but still feels good on the wrist. Easier to manage apps with the slight exception of when you want to reorder what activities you do, the watch will sync, but it will not put them in the order you selected. Minor. For me the big plus so far is that the heart rate monitor appears more stable and more accurate than previous models. Here is the thing, if you can swing the 599, I would, without question, get this watch. Especially if you like to take seriously your stats and want them to be the most accurate. I have tried many competitors, and you all know the ones I am talking about, but Garmin is unquestionably slowly but surely dominating. This unit is completely worth it - so far.

A plastic waste of time
on June 2, 2016

I workout practically every day. I am not a runner. Many of these watches/sport activity trackers sadly place A LOT of emphasis on running. I primarily lift weights and do a lot of cardio on an upright bike. I have tried the Fenix 3, Fenix 3 HR, and now the Vivoactive HR. All are overly priced and often times inaccurate, and a ridiculous challenge to deal with. The first full day of having the Vivoactive HR I had to contact technical because I was getting 2 of every notification. They could not figure it out. Trying to use it without a separate heart rate monitor seemed somewhat accurate at first. Today, I had to use a heart rate monitor because the unit alone was nowhere near as accurate as it was the first time I used it. The back button does not always work. Both buttons at times seem slow to react. The touch screen does not always react to it being touched. The unit is lightweight, but feels terribly plastic. To the point where you feel as if you need to be super careful to not bump into anything. The screen is HIGHLY susceptible to scratches. Here is my bottom line take. I keep going back to my Pebble Time Steel. I have an account with an online activity tracking software company. I wear a MIO link heart rate monitor on my other wrist. I activate the online software program I have the subscription with, it comes up on the Pebbles screen (HR, calories burned, and time of workout), and it works EVERY time. I than finish my workout and I track all my data online. NEVER AN ISSUE. And the Pebble works FLAWLESSLY EVERY TIME!!! WAY less expensive and WAY less frustrating than what you will undoubtedly found yourself going through with the Vivoactive HR.

Fenix 3 and nothing else
on October 27, 2015

I had a Fenix 3, Sapphire edition, and returned it thinking, "man, I paid too much for this watch". Having been a user for some time of Android Wear devices I thought it a good idea to just go back to one. Purchased an Asus smartwatch. It is going back tomorrow. I ended up going back to Fenix 3. The face is always on, battery feels as if to last forever, it is rugged yet beautiful and comfortable on the wrist, it provides exceptional connections to texts, emails, and calls, and it is second to none with regard to the activity features the unit monitors - calories, steps, sleep, and when connected to a heart rate monitor it is magnificent to work with while simultaneously exercising and keeping pace with your heart rate and calories burned. The Garmin Connect app on both your phone and on your computer is beautiful and full of information to help keep you motivated and in great shape. Android Wear and an accompanying smartwatch looks pretty and it too has lots of information to offer but it is nowhere near the battery life the Fenix offers. It is still a long way off from a day when you can mentally be in peace knowing that you don't have to rush to plug it in by the end of the day. And the touch screen to me is ridiculous. If you cross your arms, your forearm will activate the screen and who knows what else. It is still impossible to see outdoors. The Fenix 3 is beautiful indoors and outdoors. And this watch is built to last, always being updated and the updates improve it each time, and I can't see myself replacing it for several years to come.

Original Pebble Steel is still the best
on July 15, 2015

Why release a watch that ultimately has received MANY negative reviews? And before doing so, many backers were financially targeted to get it out to the public. Only to ultimately release a cheaper version of the original. There are way too many professional reviews, youtube reviews, and everyday buyer reviews that say the same - cheap looking bezel that SCRATCHES a lot, dim interior viewing of the watchface, and backlight is too low. Seriously? And all for $200. The Moto 360 is $149, and although it last just less than a day with HEAVY use, it is stunning in both appearance and functionality. I could care less that ultimately a steel version will be released. The screen is still going to have THE SAME ISSUES!! The original pebble steel is still beautiful, looks perfect inside and out, backlight is superior, and honestly I could care less about a timeline. I want to see who is calling me, text, and emails - PERIOD. And I want that all in a all metal and still stunning looking Pebble Steel.

Pebble Time is Fine
By pixelpaint from Houston
I own the Pebble, and now the Pebble Time through Kickstarter for about two weeks. I love it, use it for MapMyRun walking daily with the ability to voice reply (text conversion) to Messenger and texts while I am out. I switch music and monitor email, too. All with my phone in my pocket. The apps and watchfaces are plentiful and growing daily. Time Line keeps my calendar and appointments available with reminders. Plus I have gone 7 days on a charge, and that is while still tinkering and playing more so than I will be as I get everything set up (like one might expect), so more than a week will be my normal time between charges. Recharging takes less than two hours. It is waterproof! So I don't worry about sweat and rain, or even swimming with it on. There are more features than I will ever need, or use, so it is perfect for me. I have dressed it up with a bezel cover and clear lens protector, plus new watch band to match. And I can change it as I desire with alternate bezel skins since they peel off and watch bands that attach with standard 22mm pins (the installed band has a quick disconnect pin, too). The watchface color choices also can be set to match your bezel and band colors, too. I use my PebbleTime with an android phone, but it also works with iphones. It is light weight, and hardly noticeable to wear. The e-paper display stays on all the time, but a back light will show automatically in darker conditions to provide adequate viewing with a wrist flip or by installing the Backlight app like I have done and use. See my blog, updated daily at http://pebbleusers.blogspot.com/ for pictures and more details! I have no connection with Pebble other than as a customer and wearer of the watch, but I love it and the excellent customer support they provide. Which, for me, is a big plus! If there are ever problems you can count on them to be there for you. I look forward to the future smart watch bands, too. These devices will expand the functionality of the Pebble Time and provide future needs and purpose. News is forthcoming every day and this is what makes Pebble an exciting company and excellent watch choice.

Can you tell me if the vibration feature is noticeable? As good as it was on the Pebble Steel?

I use these with my Apple Watch at the gym. They pair beautifully! I love them. They stay comfortably on my ears and drown out the boring music the gym plays.

Many people give rave reviews on these, but I have seen and read MANY negative reviews especially related to charging issues and specifically the headphones giving out soon after purchase because of sweat destroying them, especially around the volume controller. Can you provide me any feedback on your experience.

Perfect
By Nickr3333 from SLC, Utah
I've been working from home the last 3 years and have used my Sony laptop that entire time. The issue was anytime I had to travel I needed to unplug everything from my laptop (monitors, camera, etc) each time. I decided to pick up a desktop so I didnt need to do this any longer. Since all of my laptop documents are on the cloud, it was easy to transition. This desktop has enough power for my day to day operation / working. Not sure on gaming - but was able to hook up 3 wide screen monitors (one HDMI and used a USB to HDMI for the other two) and works perfectly

You mentioned that you used usb to hdmi for extra monitors. I purchased two 27 inch monitors. One looks vivid via HDMI but the other looks dull with VGA. Are yours all vivid and equal in image quality. What usb to hdmi adapter did you use. Thank you.
