Point, shoot, drag and tilt in the virtual universe with this Gear VR controller. Ergonomically proportioned and equipped with a touchpad and the familiar Gear VR buttons, this controller feels comfortable and adds a new dimension to your gameplay. An internal gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetic sensor make this Bluetooth Gear VR controller an intuitive addition to your gaming kit.

Adds a fun dynamic, but dissappointing

I've had my Gear VR for about a month before the controller launched, so I've been playing with a GameSir console style controller (similar to PS3) until I picked up my Samsung Gear VR Controller yesterday.
The Gear VR Controller adds a point and shoot mechanism to games, which adds greatly to the level of fun and immersion. There is great potential here, especially with shooting games.
Unfortunately, the controller is not based on absolute positioning. It's all relative to its starting position, and it gets out of sync quickly. I can't even finish a level without re-syncing several times in the middle of the game.
Ergonomics are also lacking. There's not enough to hold on to. I've got what I consider average sized hands (I wear a large glove, not XXL or something) and my hand hurts after playing an exciting shooting game for about 45 minutes.
Buttons... (plural, not singular!) why can't Gear VR have a joystick and buttons? I understand that they want to maintain the possibility of playing games without a controller, but the games will never evolve beyond shooters on rails without a thumbstick and buttons.
I would recommend this to a friend!
