Nikon AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D Standard Lens: The wide-open aperture of this versatile Nikon lens allows you to capture photos in most situations without a flash. Whatever you're shooting, you'll get consistently sharp results at dusk, dawn or even in dim indoor lighting. Weighing just 5.5 oz., it makes a convenient carry-around lens for shooting stills and video.

Extremely good lens at low price

If you're a photography fan this is a lens you should seriously consider buying. Even though nowadays everyone
BEWARE: It won't auto-focus if your camera doesn't have it's own focusing motor. AF will not be supported by D40 and D60, D3100, D3000, D3100, D5000 cameras.
REMEMBER you will have to lock the aperture ring at 22 in order for AF to work properly.
IN THE BOX:
- Lens
- 52mm Nikon Lens Cap
- Plastic back cover
It doesn't come with the Nikon rear lens cap (LF-4) or with a bag/casing of any kind. The rear cap, if anyone is interested, can be found easily for around $5.
EXPERIENCE:
So far, so good. Remember that if you have a camera with a DX format sensor, this lens will "behave" as a 75mm mounted on a Full Frame sensor body.
The results of pictures are very good, hard to beat -considering the price, of course-.
It is a really sharp lens, especially from 2.0 up, and you will be amazed by the results.
It also shows very little distortion, even less if mounted on a DX sensor body, since the crop factor will cut the corners, which is where distortion is more obvious.
Same thing goes for vignetting, noticeable at 1.8 or 2.0, slight at 3.2, and totally gone at 4.0. Also less visible in DX sensor bodies. Even with a filter on it.
AF is quick and accurate, didn't have any trouble with it so far.
I would totally recommend this lens to anyone who asked me.

Great choice! 100% recommended

(NOT RATED 5 STARS YET SINCE I ONLY BOUGHT IT TWO WEEKS AGO AND FEEL LIKE IT NEEDS MORE USE TO EVAL DURABILITY)
I had been looking for a new backack and after some research I brought it down to three options:
- Samsonite Tectonic PFT
- North Face Surge II Transit
- Thule Crossover 25L
One of the main uses I will give it is as additional luggage when travelling and to carry fragile things like electronics/valuables, so for me, the option to fully open the laptop compartment was a priority since it eases a lot the process through security at airports.
The other main function is to easily move things around while in the city, either when I'm going to work/gym or to use during the day when travelling abroad.
Then I was looking for some main features:
- good size, since sometimes you might need extra room for a jacket, DSLR camera, bike helmet, etc.
- Checkpoint-friendly laptop compartment
- Strap that allows sliding over the upright handle of a wheeled bag for easy mobility
- Good padding on both straps and back
- Doubled metallic&sturdy pull tabs for each zipper, with openings big enough as to be able to easily lock them together
- NO hip or chest straps/extra padding since it always is in the middle and I rarely use it
- price around $100, maybe more if it was worth
So this Samsonite backpack has all features I requested and the price was pretty good. It was on sale for $71 temporarily.
The North Face one is a good option too, but:
1. Lacks the strap for holding it with the handle of your upright carry-on
2. Price was about twice as much ($71 vs $130 when I bought mine)
3. Has both hip padding and chest straps (though you can hide the hip padding if you want)
Other great features that deserve mentioning after some days of use:
- Perfect-Fit system. This is awesome! Allows you to perfectly adjust the laptop sleeve to the exact measures of yours. I always carry my 13" Macbook Air in a neoprene thin sleeve, and could fit both easily, making it tight so it doesn't dangle around. I've also tried it with a 15" MacBook Pro without sleeve and work just as fine.
- Padded top handle. Feels awesome when the bag is packed heavy and you have to lift it for some reason.
- Daisy-chain and the small red loops. These allow to attach a carabiner with which you can easily hold some light things like a bike helmet.
- awesome placed/designed bottom horizontal red loop, where you can attach a light when riding a bike at night. North Face has a similar system.
- two different pockets with soft padding, useful if you carry your ipad without a case
- top pocket to store the headphones or other stuff like sunglasses. It's bigger than I expected, soft lining. It may get a little in the way if your main compartment is really full, in that case it's better to leave it unused.
- two elastic side pockets (I doubt I'll ever use them). Since ai know some people might be curious, you can super tightly fit one of those 32 ounces bottles with a red flip top. Tight but fits. Smaller bottles would fit easily.
Summing up... (Hoping I don't have to edit this because of poor durability)
Great option if you are a someone who cares about what he carries around, and wants to spend money in something WORTH it.
Highly recommended for travellers and urban users. Good price too, compared to similar options, I'm seriously considering getting an extra one for when this one wears down haha.
