These speakers sound excellent! Coming from older Def Tech BP7002, it was a noticeable difference. I don't really notice a difference with Dolby Atmos, but I didn't buy them for that anyways.

Good, but....

Tv is good, has great color, good backlighting, great upscaling and very good 4K performance. Two gripes, one, no way to shut off volume indicator when using an external receiver. This causes the volume display to overlap the receiver volume display. It is annoying.
Two, on black backgrounds, it does have some light bleed.
Otherwise, a great tv!

The CS9080 center channel speaker delivers immense clarity and focus to the vocal range, accurately reproducing even the most demanding audio content so you can experience every detail of pure home theater. An aluminum dome tweeter, BDSS high-performance drivers, an integrated powered subwoofer and Intelligent Bass Control deliver crystal highs and deep, impactful bass creating an authentic reproduction of sound as the artist intends in the studio or concert hall. The inert, resonance-free cabinet structure with acoustically transparent grilles provides natural, uncolored sound without having to remove the speaker grille. The CS9080 can be placed atop any flat-surface such as a stand, shelf or cabinet, and its integrated rubber feet make sure the speaker stays in place and does not scratch your furniture.

So I purchased this center (CS-9080HD) to replace my Deftech CLR 2002. The CLR 2002 was a very good sounding center and I had no particular problems with it. This new CS9080 sounds a tad better, it is a little brighter and sounds a little fuller. I am sure this is also due to the woofer and radiator this speaker has, compared to the CLR I was using. While it is pricey, I am pleased with the purchase. I am not a Def Tech fan boy, so if it sucked, I would tell it like it is. While this has a 300 watt built in Sub, I am powering my setup (5.2) with a Emotiva XPA and using a Denon AVR as a processor. My fronts are Deftech BP7002's and I was worried this wouldn't blend as well since the new Center is a newer generation but that was not the case. Out of the box it seemed a little "bright", but Audyysey correction dialed it back a bit. Overall, a great speaker if you are in the market.

Overpriced for the sound

Like anything Bose, it is overpriced for what it is. If you are a general listener, it is ok. I had two of these systems, both sub modules powered by a harmon kardon power amp, and two of them can't come close to a Klipsch power sub in terms of output. The frequency response stinks, as the lows are not as low as a quality sub. I guess that's the reason Bose doesn't publish the specs.
There is better for the price

i bought this sub to compliment my def tech 7002's with built in 12 inch subs. Yes, I like bass lol. It has pretty good output but not as accurate as the super cube technology of def tech. It has similar output to my old Cerwin vega LW-12, maybe I little more punch. If you are looking for volume this sub is a good option especially for 400 dollars. If you are looking for tight accurate bass, it may not be your best option, but at only 400 dollars it is not a bad sub at all. My room is roughly 15 x 24 and it has no problem with volume.

Bought this to replace an old (2004) Harman Kardon AVR-325. There was nothing really wrong with the 325 but I liked some of the features of the newer receivers and more power.
My setup is a 5.2, with Def tech 7002 bi-polar towers with built in subwoofers (12" with two 14" radiators in each tower#, a Def tech CLR Center and Polk surrounds.
The Harman drove them to pretty high levels #I listen to it loud#, but felt I might get more with some extra power. The 325 was rated at 65W x 7, but older Harman receivers were underrated. My subs have their own class D amps.
The 4100W is a nice looking unit. Setup was very easy with the Audyssey system. I notice more detail in the sound, it is slightly crisper that my old 325. While the Denon is supposed to have 125w per channel, the difference in true power between the two is only slightly higher. I measured it with power center that tells me the amperage being pulled from the device.
As many others have commented on different Audyssey setups, it had the bass set really low, had to make a manual adjustment to bring it up. My Den is 14x24, so not a huge space, but not small either.
I didn't have a chance to listen to this receiver before buying it, as it is hard to find locally, the sound is good, but not a huge improvement over my previous receivers.
The features are very nice as far as Pandora Radio / Bluetooth, and other streaming content. It sees all the recorded programs from my Direct TV DVRS, but won't play them #haven't had a chance to see why#.
I don't regret buying it, but it wasn't a huge improvement over other receivers I have used.
What's great about it: Lots of features
What's not so great: its not that overally powerful

Denon Has Major Issues
By GPS101 from Florida
I needed to replace my Denon 3806, it didn't have the HDMI Arc capability to be compatible with our new TV. I was perfectly ok with the Denon 3806...never a problem and produced decent sound. Denon and Marantz are owned by the same company so I thought I'd give Marantz a try as they were also noted as a quality manufacturer. Since this is a Denon review I'll keep the Marantz part brief... you can also see my reviews on the Marantz products. I went through 2 Marantz receivers that had issues with firmware, both froze up within the 1st day, additionally both were unable to connect to the Internet. Two days of my life wasted in set up and troubleshooting. After returning each I decided to go back to Denon. That was my second...actually third mistake. Having faith that Denon wouldn't let me down, I bought the x4100 which had the same problems as it's sister Marantz receivers. The bluetooth feature locked up almost immediately, followed by the inability to connect to the internet. Denon customer service walked me through a reset that fixed the Bluetooth for a short time but within 5 minutes the sound became choppy and inaudible..totally useless! They had no "fix" for this!
I should have been done with Denon and Marantz at this point but no, my distant past successful experience with Denon led me to try one more time, and the fact BB had the Flagship 2013, AVR 4520ci on sale for almost $1500.00 off! It was last years model, not a new release but brand new. Unfortunately, again Denon robbed me of another day of my life. This one locked up in the process of updating the firmware and Denon customer service couldn't get it working again. They offered no further customer service. Nothing! No way to fix the problems, just a "sorry for your luck" attitude.
That's two new receivers from Denon and two from Matantz all worthless within 24 hours of purchase!
The Denon X4100 along with the Marantz 5009 and 6009 are new 2014 releases, obviously they have unresolved issues. It appears they have the same faulty operating system (firmware) in these models. These should not have been released to retail until these issues were resolved. I cannot believe Denon/Marantz wasn't aware of these serious issues before? They just popped up??? Don't they do extensive testing on these units...or do they leave that to us, the consumer??
The way I see it Denon and Marantz have wasted 4 days of my life that I'll never get back. I won't deal with either of these companies again and I highly recommend you consider a different brand as this one is selling faulty receivers and couldn't care less about your experience.

Weird
September 19, 2014
I would say it is your internet setup or interference in your home.. I have the AVR-4100W and it works fine. I have mine hard wired, and as soon as I plugged it in it found the internet. It then proceeded to do a firmware upgrade with no issues. I connected the Bluetooth to my iPhone 5s in about 10 seconds. The only issue I have had is it decides to turn on by itself every so often out of the blue. I believe either my direct TV receiver, or the TV is telling it turn on.

Update
November 24, 2016
The original one had the LED in the front burn out, Def Tech would fix the speaker on their dime, paying in advance for the shipping, or I could have dropped it off at Best Buy. Since I was in the return period, I simply exchanged it for a new one, and have had no issues. While the original LED logo quit, it didn't effect the sound in anyway, I just thought for that price it should be 100 percent.

I liked the last center I had, The Deftech Clr 2002, so I decided to upgrade it with another.. However, I don't have all Deftech speakers. I also have two Klipsch 12" subs in that room, with Polk surrounds. My other room has Martin Logans, with an SVS sub. Troll somewhere else.
