Iconic and horrifying
on August 30, 2014

from Marina Del Rey
An all-singing mishmash of horror and comedy wrapped around a simple mystery narrative: a child has been reported missing on the remote island of Summerisle, and dour policeman Howie (Edward Woodward) is the only one capable of finding out what happened.
Ultimately it’s a horror film, but there’s very little violence, no jump scares, and most of the action takes place during the day. It’s playful and sometimes even joyous, but it has an unsettling atmosphere that builds and builds to an iconic (and horrifying) climax.
What's great about it: The ending
What's not so great: Very dated
I would recommend this to a friend!

A wake-up call to the world
on August 30, 2014

from Marina Del Rey
Closed Circuit Extreme is a test of the nerves and endurance of the viewer. It is a brutal piece of social commentary, a wake-up call to the world at large that these things actually happen.
What's great about it: It feels so real
What's not so great: Very slow
I would recommend this to a friend!

Impassive
on August 30, 2014

from Marina Del Rey
It’s the matter of fact, impassive observational style that lends the film such a hard-hitting, disturbing edge. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is an extreme film that will absolutely not be to many people’s tastes due to the sheer grimness of the subject matter. But for those who like their horror cold, hard and emotionally raw – the film delivers some serious chills.
What's great about it: Its ground breaking
What's not so great: Faultless
I would recommend this to a friend!

Macabre
on August 30, 2014
Posted by: Jackattack
from Marina Del Rey
This low budget thriller does a pretty good job of creating a spooky and evil monster that lurks in wait for an unsuspecting victim. Using the serial killer theme in tandem with the macabre, the movie lives up to its title.
What's great about it: Danielle Harris
What's not so great: Dated screenplay
I would recommend this to a friend!
