The PS4 is a graphical powerhouse, able to deliver massive game worlds with impressive clarity and detail. 8GB of RAM allows for serious multitasking potential, complementing the great apps and features that make up the PS4 experience. The PlayStation brand of consoles has an impressive history of delivering world-class exclusive games, and the trend is sure to continue with the PS4. The growing blockbuster catalog is backed by a library of free-to-play and indie games, giving you flexibility in how you pay and play. The PS4 also acts as a social hub, with several built-in features that take advantage of the social networks you're already using. The controller's Share button opens up a world of video sharing, with the option to stream your gameplay live or record it to edit and post later.PlayStation Vita owners will enjoy the connectivity that ties the two devices together, from Remote Play, which allows you to play your PS4 games on your Vita's screen over a local Wi-Fi network, to Cross-Buy, which allows you to purchase a game digitally only once and play it on both your PS4 and your Vita. All PS4 consoles will need a firmware update and must be connected to the Internet to complete the update. While your console will not always need to be connected to the Internet, a one-time connection is required for the update.Online multiplayer requires a paid PlayStation Plus membership. Some features require a broadband Internet connection; ISP fees apply.PS3 games, controllers and some accessories are not compatible with the PS4.

It's All You Could Ask for in a System

There's not much I can say about the ps4 that hasn't already been said. It is a fantastic piece of technology, and one every game could enjoy.
The software runs smoothly and without flaw.
My only complaint is that it can be loud at times and gets very hot. I hope that this does not lead to problems in the future after the warranty has run out.

Paris 1789 — the once-hub of cultural and intellectual activity has been thrown into bloody chaos in the midst of the tense French Revolution. Commoners have become tired of the oppressive regime of the aristocrats and have finally gathered the courage to confront the hierarchy with the pangs of the present inequality. As the nation of France tears apart at the seams, splitting into different factions, a young man named Arno sets off on a journey to reveal the true powers behind the Revolution. In the process of seeking the truth, Arno must face a ruthless struggle as he seeks to carve out a new destiny for the nation he holds dear. From the storming of the Bastille to the execution of King Louis XVI, experience the French Revolution in all its remarkable, gory detail as never before in Assassin's Creed: Unity. With an all-new game engine, Revolutionary Paris is rendered in incredibly realistic detail, letting you freely explore the open world of 18th century Paris. Navigate your way through complex building interiors, discover secret catacombs and slink through sewer systems. Featuring realistic, systemic crowds of up to 5,000 AI-driven characters, you'll feel as if you're truly in the throngs of the city. Play as Arno — a developing Master Assassin — embarking on ancestral missions, treasure hunts, murder mysteries, contracts and other heart-pounding adventures. Eliminate enemy threats with a wide range of new weapons, including the Phantom Blade, which combines a hidden blade with crossbow capabilities for ultimate devastation. Utilize full-motion control with parkour mechanics, so you can freely run up, down and across city walls and buildings. Want to remain discreet? Enhanced stealth gameplay makes it easy to stay hidden as you stalk your prey and strike without warning. Customize your play experience by choosing from hundreds of possible combinations of weapons, gear, outfits and specialized skills. Take part in an epic single-player campaign or join up with 3 friends online. You and your lethal band must rely on communication skills to successfully accomplish a slew of missions — sabotage an execution, protect an emperor, assassinate a Templar agent and more. Do you have the skills needed to reverse the fate of an entire city?

A Little Light on Features, Still Enjoyable
on April 21, 2015

This game offers about 3/4 of what you likely have come to expect from an Assassin's Creed title. You have the traditional blend of history and AC fiction, an arsenal of weapons and gear, and the same basic gameplay of all other AC console titles.
There is an added element of online co-op, which is a nice idea. However, the load times can be great, and you must go back into the pause menu and select your next mission every time you want to do it.
If you've found a person you liked playing with, you must us PSN to track them down and friend them, as the game disconnects everyone upon completing the mission. You will then have to invite them every time you want to play a new mission. There is no continuing party or online play menu.
This is yet another title without a competitive multiplayer, so the online aspects become very repetitive and dull. The missions are all scripted, with all NPCs on a loop.
The story mode feels limited at times, as it only has one major area - Paris. There is one other smaller area of Versailles. The open world with multiple cities is no more. The ability to command a ship is gone, which means no more enjoyable sea shanties from your rugged crew. In those regards, Unity is a step back from the last few installments.
As of April 2015, there are still a few glitches here and there, but I didn't encounter any that ruined the game for me. Most were just animations, like an NPC walking in mid-air or a tuft of hay suspended above a cart. You will likely find yourself getting stuck inside a wall or under a bridge/ledge from time to time, but you can always reload the last checkpoint or fast travel to get unstuck. It rewinds you a few moments, but it's nothing disastrous.
Even in spite of its flaws, this is an enjoyable game, and you'll find that you forget those flaws as you play. It's not among the best in the AC franchise, but as a standalone campaign, it is solid enough to warrant a purchase now that it has come down from the $60 release price.

Don't Buy it to Play Vita Games
on April 21, 2015

When Best Buy offered a PlayStation TV with a PS4 in a bundle deal, it was enough to finally push me to take the step into the current gen of consoles. I now regret taking this bundle instead of grabbing one with something useful, like an extra ps4 game. The pstv is hot garbage, at least when it comes to meeting my needs.
The item description of the PSTV here omits some very important details. The PSTV does not have enough internal memory to play any digital video games. You have to purchase a PS Vita memory card. Cha ching, money down the drain to play any digital titles you may already have from your PS+ membership or bought in anticipation of the new machine....assuming the pstv will even play them.
The "host of PS Vita games" line sounds promising, but you'll be very disappointed when you look at the actual list. The majority of games that are supported are only the ones that are already available on the ps3/ps4. The majority of Vita exclusive titles are not compatible with the pstv.
I wish the item description here had more information, for I would not have wasted my one time purchase on such a worthless piece of technology. Perhaps it is useful for those who need to stream their ps4 to another room (I have no need to try this feature), but for those who are like me and were hoping to open themselves up to the PS Vita game catalog, it is all but useless.
Research this product elsewhere to see if it meets your needs, or you'll be stuck with an $80 paperweight like me. Thanks for the limited and misleading product description, Best Buy!
