Larry's Reviews

Launched in 2011, this design established the trend of paper-thin TV antennas. Universally compatible with all HDTVs, the Mohu Leaf 50 offers the benefits and powerful performance of our notorious design coupled with the Jolt Switch USB in-line amplifier to reach a 60-mile range. Control TV signal amplification in real time with a simple ON/OFF switch. When it’s "on", TV signals are increased for clearer picture and sound, sometimes receiving channels beyond your antenna’s standard range. When it’s "off", amplification is bypassed while TV signals are still filtered from FM and cellular interference. When plugged into your TV’s USB port, the amplifier only draws power when the TV is on, saving energy, or use the included USB power adapter with any standard wall outlet. Perfect for suburban areas, compact living spaces, single-TV homes, dorm rooms, RVs…take this efficient antenna just about anywhere you go. Easy to set up and easy on the eyes. Multi-directional UHF and Hi-VHF elements receive TV signals from both sides, so you can show either side of the black or white reversible design or paint the Leaf antenna for a customized look. Note: The range of this antenna will vary greatly depending on the height, power, and frequency of signals coming from the TV tower, as well as the height of the antenna installation, the terrain, and obstacles between your home and the broadcast towers. Find your TV towers and channels by using our free Antenna Point app on your android or iOS device.

Stucco walls did not stop my TV signals

In east Fullerton I'm only 26 miles as the crow flies from the major transmitters northeast of downtown Los Angeles. But I wanted the 50 mile Mohu Leaf antenna for the best chance at good reception, instead of the 30 mile version.
I'm in the southeast corner of a stucco apartment building. No windows face the transmitters, and the wire mesh in stucco covered buildings has been known to absorb or block TV signals. And there are some walls between my living room and the transmitting towers. So I wasn't sure I would get enough signal strength from the major LA stations.
I decided to buy a refurbished Mohu Leaf 50 (elsewhere) to save 20 dollars. I saw nothing wrong with the parts.
I ended up getting about 125 channels and sub-channels, although about 90% seem to be either foreign language, shopping, or religious channels. All I really wanted was 2, 4, 7, 9, and 11. They all come in pretty well, although 7 can dropout once in a while.
It took me a while to remember that my TV has a signal strength meter in the menus. So then instead of scanning channels each time I tried a different location for the antenna, I just watched the signal strength meter as I tried different antenna locations.
I recommend the Mohu Leaf 50.
What's great about it: Gets scores of channels
What's not so great: nothing
I would recommend this to a friend!

This ARRIS cable modem features Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for fast downstream and upstream data speeds. Six multicolor LEDs indicate the operational status and a color-coded rear panel ensures simple installation.

About two and a half times faster. And will save $

I use it in...:Apartment
Time Warner's rented modem ($5.99/month) gave me 22 Mbps download speed. My new SB6121 modem now gives me 54 Mbps.
Time Warner's modem gave me 2 Mbps upload speed. The SB6121 now gives me 5.4 Mbps.
And as soon as I can return Time Warner's modem to one of their offices, that will eliminate their irritating rental charge. I will then make my money back on the cost of this SB6121 in 12 months.
What's great about it: Faster speeds, and will save me money in the long run
What's not so great: Nothing
I would recommend this to a friend!

why cant i connect to the Internet

You probably need to call your internet service provider and tell them you bought a new modem, and tell them the MAC ID number, which is printed on a sticker on the modem. That MAC ID number may also be printed on a sticker on the box that the modem came in.
