Keep your groceries fresher by chilling or freezing them faster with this Samsung refrigerator. The Power Cool and Power Freeze options allow you to conveniently lower the temperature in the fridge or freezer within minutes.

Frustrated by Samsung Support

This was an excellent refrigerator for the first 10 months. But then it started running all the time and the freezer defrosted. Still under the warranty, I went to Samsung's support site and did my best to work within their system.
Day 1: I filled out the forms, re-uploaded the receipt for an already registered product, and even recorded a detailed video illustrating the problem.
Day 2: 24 hours later I missed a call and checked my voicemail. It was a woman telling me that since I didn't answer on the first call, my ticket was closed. There was an impersonal email linking to two help articles that obviously didn't apply if someone had read my description and watched the video. I called back and re-initiated a ticket, explaining that the unit was not off (I checked) and that regardless of whether my thermometer should match the internal display, there should not be standing water in a functioning freezer. They told me someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours.
Day 3: Call comes about 24 hours later. I swerve off the highway to take the call, fearing my ticket might get closed again if I wasn't immediately available. I explain that the freezer isn't freezing, and that the refrigerator will not get below 43 degrees. He asks me what temperature the freezer is. I explain that once the ice melted I quit checking, but I was confident it was above 32 degrees. He checks the schedule and says that there is an available appointment the following day. Huzzah!
Day 4: Ummm. No call? No technician? I pack ice into the refrigerator to keep the milk chilled.
Day 5: I call Samsung support again. There is a record of the call on day 3, and she explains it's normal that you have to go through 24-48 hours and at least two calls before they will make an appointment with a technician. I ask where my Friday appointment was. She had no record, but could offer me the next available appointment on TUESDAY. I live in the Denver Metro area, and a Google Maps search for Appliance Repair looks like a polka dot skirt, but the only technician that Samsung can work with is an hour drive away, and will try and get to the house between 12 and 3 on DAY 7. We have decided to come to terms by eating fresh rather than frozen. Humans did well for thousands of years without refrigeration. Who am I to complain?
Day 7: To be continued....
My Best Buy number: 2276557189
What's great about it: When it is working, it keeps my food cold
What's not so great: When it's not working, food spoils and Samsung bureaucratizes
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
