This "Mini Boom Box" as I refer to it is awesome in every way! The bluetooth aspect is seamless, I had it synced/paired to both my phone AND tablet in less than five minutes. The "WOW" factor comes in with the sound coming out of this thing. When you pick it up, you can feel the density and quality of materials used, as it weighs about 1.50 - 2.00 pounds real weight. It has a kickstand in the back that allows for tilt resting on a table, and actually increases the base resonating from it because the kickstand/flip out piece actually covers the center/sub speaker. It has about a three hour total play/usage time, and only needs about 20-30 minutes to fully charge back up. All in all this thing is a SOLID piece of equipment, I didn't want to spend the $70 on a speaker I was going to be dragging down to the pool, leaving outside, banging around, getting water splashed on, etc, but I'm glad I did. Short of taking a hammer to this thing, or tossing it and leaving it to sink in the pool, I'd be hard pressed to see this thing fail.

The device itself is EXTREMELY functional, as well as durable. I know the "durable" part to be the case because of the one drawback of this device, which we'll come back to shortly. The bluetooth aspect is excellent, I had the device synced/paired in under two minutes to my phone AND tablet (there's nothing special to that part, just make your phone/tablet/etc "discoverable" to devices, the new HMDX device will pop up, sync it, done). It automatically pairs to my phone in the morning when I turn the HMDX on and streams Pandora flawlessly. That being said, the first few times I turned it on and off I thought Battlestar Galactica or Asteroid Blaster was in my shower. Simply put when you turn the device on and off it gives you a pretty loud signaling it's doing so by playing a four beat, two second blast of tones and when your just waking up it can catch you by surprise. The sound itself on the device can be adjusted. However your gonna wanna make sure the device it is paired too (your phone/tablet/etc) has the volume turned all the way up, and then adjust it from the HMDX itself. The sound this little guy puts out its also pretty surprising, even threw the background noise in an enclosed shower it's clearly audible and provides good resonance, good bass, no distortion. The ONLY drawback ironically is the silliest thing... The suction cup that mounts the device isn't that great, especially if you've recently cleaned your shower. The BEST application I've found is to make sure the surface your mounting to is clean, no water spots/hard water stains/etc, and DRY. Then just slightly dampen the suction cup only, and mount it. Make sure you don't smash the suction cup to the mounting surface because it will slowly draw back and eventually fall off the wall and go tumbling down in the shower - hence how I know this thing can take a pretty good beating. Through trial and error I've had this thing take a fall and go banging around the shower floor about half a dozen times and it still functions flawlessly. The charge/usage time is about 5 hours on one charge, and only takes about 20-30 minutes to fully charge back up. Last thing, it may state "water proof" on the packaging but remember it is still a speaker and therefore should not be constantly submerged in water. It will hold up just fine in the shower, and can be dunked/fully submerged occasionally for VERY short periods of time. All in all, it's a handy, durable, user friendly device, that puts out great sound! For less than $20 you'll get your money back out of this thing and then some.

Don't let size deceive you, this little guy packs a ton of power! Typically there are pros and cons to any device; however I have yet to discover ANY cons to this device. The bluetooth aspect was seamless, I had the device synced with both my phone AND tablet in under five minutes (be aware if your CELL PHONE is ANY model of Galaxy S the bluetooth syncing/pairing aspect can get finicky on you, but that's a SAMSUNG issue NOT an issue with this device). The sound that emanates from this device is actually surprising it's so bold! The sound is clear, thorough, and LOUD when you want it to be! The bass that resonates from this device is also surprising. Upon first use of device I had brought it to the pool and had said device sitting on table top streaming Pandora music. A song with medium to deep bass was playing(Hills - The Weekend) and I noticed the device was actually bouncing slightly across the table every time the deep bass hit! The device can also take a pretty good hit, as I've already dropped it from about a four foot distance (yes accidentally) several times to the ground and it still functions flawlessly. The device can also sustain MINIMUM water contact; IE, some splashing from the pool, some light rain for approximately 20 minutes, and have left the device sitting outside since purchasing it. Bottom line is: for less than $30 this device is WELL WORTH THE MONEY and can be trusted as a quality, user friendly product, with excellent durability. You'll get your money back out of this thing and then some!
