A prog metal classic. After the success of the previous two albums, QR looked inside, dug a little deeper than they already have, which is saying a lot, and came up with what is arguably one of their best albums. It opens strong and never looks back. And seeing the title track live was mind blowing. Never seen so much sound from 3 musicians with stripped down set up. Awesome.
Every Queensryche album has it's own personality and sound, and this is no exception. Empire contains a lot of the songs that carried QR from metal classic to widestream success without sacrificing the quality of their songwriting or performance. A must have for any true QR fan.
Once this album hit, there was no turning back. QR set the standard for progressive metal in the 80's and 90's and never looked back. A must for every QR fan.
Definitely one of the best Chris Isaak albums, especially for the beginning of his career with the classic line up of the band. It handily establishes why he became one of the best musicians and performers out there. Classic sound, and top notch sound writing.
BHT&TM is one of those groups that once you hear their music you wonder how you lived without it. Truly an american classic. This album is a great introduction to their offerings, all of which are solid. Highly recommended.

GPS is overall ok. The photo map side by side display is nice. Had to call tech support to even get it set up and print out our own manual because tech support was limited in their knowledge. Kept saying that the map needed to 'populate' for us to get the street names, many of which never came up. Navigation menu system is a pain in the butt and less than intuitive. One of the associates in store was even unable to figure it out and had to get someone from professional custom installs to demo the product. During use was hard to get to the trip stats and once you do, hard to figure out how to come back to later in the trip. It works, which is probably what counts. Really wanted to get a Tom Tom. Just worked out this way. p.s. # 1 Have the traffic update, was sitting in traffic at a stand still, GPS and Garmin tech support both showed no traffic. Traffic jam was farther than we could see and took 45 min to get through. Nough said. p.s. #2 Old enough to know how to use a map, and many times prefer that because we want to know where we're at and where we're going the way a map shows the overall view. A lot of times major highways on the Garmin are not even labelled (!!!!), even when the view is backed out quite a ways. Associate said 'if it tells you where to go, why do you care" and then turned around and said they had to set up their parent's for them. Umm, ok. Definitely qualifies for statement of the year. Probably disrupted them from playing their video game with an attempt to have an adult conversation. Would be nice if the Garmin, navigation, tech support, associate assistance, and recommendation of the product were consistent. But that's probably what comes with a lack of adult supervision. Just make sure you have someone show you what you need to know before you leave for your trip, or you will spend a lot of time sitting in a parking lot trying to navigate it. The navigation system, that is. Ironic.

Confirmation of issues others are reporting

After taking a look at other similar reviews, forgot to mention a pretty serious issue we encountered in a major city like others had reported. Unit led us through a ton of stop signs in a city to avoid traffic and then straight into a detour dead end. Had to 'trust our noses' and sense of direction just to get back to the clogged highway. Was a little caught off guard by a GPS malfunctioning in such a significant way.
