To use PCmover, simply install it on both your old and new Windows computers, and follow the easy-to-use wizard. When the transfer is complete, your new PC will have the personality and functionality of your old one. Because most transferred applications are installed ready-to-use on the new PC, there's usually no need to find old CDs or previously downloaded applications, serial numbers, or license codes. A single purchase of PCmover provides one license to migrate from one source to one destination computer - with as many attempts needed. Additional computers will require an additional license(s).

I used this to try to transfer files from a Windows Vista machine to Windows 7. Right off the bat, PC Mover indicated that a lot of data probably would not transfer to the new machine. So right there, that made the product questionable. But I set it up to transfer what it could. It finished about two hours later. I've been discovering ever since that it failed to transfer entire folders and documents -- these were not data that are incompatible with Windows 7, but rather word documents, spreadsheets and other files that should easily and reliably have moved over. As a consequence, I have no confidence that PC Mover has saved the data that I needed to save, which means I'm back to going through my data folder by folder, putting things on a thumb drive and transferring them manually. My recommendation; skip this product, get an easy transfer cable (if Best Buy has one on hand -- I couldn't find one in three Best Buy stores) and use the Windows Easy Transfer software that comes with your new computer. I don't know that it will work better, but it probably can't be worse.
