Walter Hill's tale about a young white guitarist and an old blues man, Crossroads, arrives on DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Japanese subtitles are accessible. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, but it would be fair to say the film has never looked better on home video than it does on this disc.

Diamond In The Ruff

You would not expect the choice of actors in this movie to work - but it is exactly what makes it work. The duel scene Ralph Machio vs Steve Vai is killer - excellent casting. Good vs. Evil - you know where that is headed, but whether you love blues and rock or not, you will enjoy this movie. They rarely, if ever show it on TV - but this is one of those hidden Diamonds in the ruff - obscure but worth owning. Ralph M playing slide guitar - A Gem!!
Nice job done following the legend of Robert Johnson in blues history. If you like the blues & rock, turn up the volume and enjoy yourself!"
Ironwoodrosie,
Just so you know, It's Not Ralph Machio vs Alice Cooper, It's Ralph Machio vs Steve Vai(Ex David Lee Roth Guitarist) as the devils puppet, you really must not know your music or your muscians.
What's great about it: Great Blues story - Awesome Music
What's not so great: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

A Masterpiece of a Movie!!

"Just as Leonardo da Vinci himself has brilliantly illustrated scenes from the Bible for all to enjoy and become enriched for centuries, director Ron Howard and actors Tom Hanks, Audrey Tatou, and Sir Ian McKellen illustrate Brown's thriller, and, although I had read the book - twice - before seeing the movie, I was still on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Both Hanks and McKellen are renowned for their versatility, and here we see two more dimensions to their acting ranges. Hanks portrays Robert with finesse, and just as, to me, Scarlett O'Hara will always be Vivien Leigh and Gandalf will always be McKellen, so Hanks is deeply ingrained in my mind as Robert, and I sincerely hope that he, Brown, and Howard will go ahead and do the sequel, Angels and Demons.
While I disapprove of some digressions from the book, which I dare not reveal for fear of spoiling both for you, I was amazed with how true this movie is to the book, and I would say that it is as true to Brown's book as the movie Gone With the Wind is to Margaret Mitchell's.
This movie illustrates some sharper dimensions on Leonardo da Vinci's art and philosophy I have never imagined. The story is a fast-paced magical treasure hunt, in which the magicians do not wave their arms, or their wands, but use their gifts of logic in both creating and solving puzzle after puzzle until Sophie finally gets the valuable treasure that her grandfather intended her to have - and cherish!
Noblemen and noblewomen interested in creating a treasure hunt of their own for a special someone might be interested in going to the Noble Collection, where they will find an exact replica of the Da Vinci Code Cryptex - a small ornate container that Robert and Sophie find, which is made of a difficult puzzle they must solve! What a fun Christmas or birthday or holiday treat!
I haven't had the pleasure to have read Brown's book, which is consider ed to be one of the best-written American novels, which I know people that have read it and they think it needs to be savored slowly like a glass of very expensive wine. Howard's movie adds to the enjoyment of the story, but I believe that it might detract from the "thrill of the read" if you were to watch it first, before reading the book. I found this film complements the book richly and beautifully.
What's great about it: This movie brilliantly illustrates Dan Brown's powerfully intriguing thriller!
What's not so great: This movie might spoil some things for those of you who have not read Brown's book.

This highly entertaining holiday release marries a concert performance by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with the telling of a Christmas story written by Paul O'Neill. The disc offers a standard full-frame transfer. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and PCM Stereo. English subtitles are accessible. In addition to the spectacular music, and the performances by Michael Crawford, Jewel, and Ossie Davis, the disc contains full lyrics and subtitles, a discography, and a bonus track not included in the regular program. This disc is a wonderful Christmas treat for the entire family.

This documentary looks at the career of the arguable most famous professional wrestling tag team of their era, The Road Warriors. Decked out in chains, studded dog collars, and face paint, the duo of Animal and Hawk became two of the biggest celebrities the sport ever produced. Always entering the ring to the strains of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man," the pair ignited audiences around the world, winning the tag team crown in all three of the sport's major institutions during the '80s. The documentary offers interviews with them as well as their associates, footage of them at work, and a bittersweet look at the early death of Hawk.

What's great about it: the album the songs and all the band members rock!!!!!!!!!!!!! tarja is my favorite member in nightwish
What's not so great: anette ozlon has big shoes to fill
You got the female lead singers out of order , Tarja wasn't the 1st lead she was the 2nd Lead Singer, Anette Olzen came before Tarja.
