This is a great product. It works well, and was very easy to set up. I thought I had a issue with the product, and I contacted Netgear customer support. They were very helpful, even though the problem was not with their product. The problem was my cable connection on the pole in front of my house. I had to call Comcast to come out and fix it, and Netgear cared enough to email me back to make sure the problem was fixed. This works much better than the one I was renting from Comcast, and I no longer have to pay $10. a month to rent one from Comcast. The WiFi is great, and I can stream to my Smart TV without any problems. It works perfectly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great TV

This is a great TV. It gets all local stations with an antenna, and it works perfectly. Alll of the menus are on the screen with the remote. I just exchanged the 'chromecast' version of this TV, for this TV. You do not need to use a smartphone or tablet to access all of the functions on this TV, which you do on the 'chromecast' TV. I am very glad I took the other one back and got this one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Nice TV

This TV is very nice. The picture quality is great. I do not have cable TV, and it picks up all of the local stations perfectly. It also has RCA audio out jacks, for hooking up to my vintage amplifier. Very few TVs have those now. I would prefer it came with a full function remote with full function menus on the TV, but I am getting use to it. The TV comes with a basic remote, Beyond basic use, other settings must be made from an app on a tablet/smartphone. The app is, however, very easy to use. I just got my first smartphone last month, and I got it to work without any problems. For 99% of what I use the TV for, the basic remote is fine. The more I use the app on my smartphone, the more I like it. The app basically turns your smartphone into a $300. touchscreen TV remote and a digital version of an old school video rental store.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wrote the above review. I liked the TV at first. The 'Smartcast' app streams about half of the time. I just exchanged this TV for the same TV without 'Smartcast'. I was told by Geek Squad the 'Smartcast' needs a very strong signal to work. The TV was 10 feet away from my router, in the same room. I don't know how the signal could have been any stronger. It seems like the 'Smartcast' technology was rolled out too soon without adequate testing, because if proved to be very unreliable. When I told the Best Buy sales rep about the problem, he said a lot of people have had the same issue with Smartcast.

Does this TV come with a remote? Is the remote fully functional without downloading the app?
It does come with a basic remote, for most functions of the TV. However, it is not fully functional. The app must be used for more advanced options. The app is very easy to use, however.
