I have never had any issues with Seagate drives, and this is no exception! Great performance and zero issues. Using with my Xbox One and loving it. I do have an extensive background with electronics, also using many Seagate hdds, and even if you were to have any issues, just let them know and your warranty will cover any defects.
Don't avoid simply because of one bad review. Be understanding that any company can have possible issues with products that leave the factories.
Great price as well! Might buy a few more :)

Ideal for use with desktop performance towers, all-in-one computers, consumer-grade NAS devices or desktop RAID arrays, this Seagate internal hard drive features a 1TB capacity, so you can store plenty of digital files.

How do I transfer data from old disk?

If you are using a desktop computer, you should have at least a couple of drive bays and can just have both hdds installed and copy that way.

Simply open two windows with each hdd then drag and drop!

You can also use an external USB enclosure or SATA to USB adapter. Keep in mind that a 3.5" drive will need dedicated power along with USB if going this route.

Will this drive work with a 2007 Mac Pro ? I would like to partition it and use an older Mac operating system that is still compatible with older applications that don't need to have 64 bit operating systems.

Yes! Any hard drive with a SATA connection will work. Any hard drive will work with any computer.

When installing a new hard drive, I would recommend booting up and going right into your storage devices to format it.

Performing a fresh install of OS X will prompt you to format the new drive as well if trying to install to it.
