NOMADCLIP REVIEW- TWO PRODUCTS IN ONE
on June 28, 2015
Posted by: Shawn
Nomad believes in minimal and practical products that have more than one function. This can be seen in the Nomad Clip, which acts as a clip and lightning cable (iPhone and iPad charger). The ability with this clip to always have a charger with me has convinced me to give up my current key lanyard and now use the Nomad Clip to carry my keys. Before my clip arrived I was thinking well it’s just a clip with a charger built in. As I used the clip more and more and the worry of not being able to charge my phone was gone. I now see the vision Nomad has of making minimal and practical products.
Quality and durability is something you have to look due to this will always be traveling around with you. When I first unboxed the Nomad Clip I was very surprised of the quality of the Nomad carabineer clip, the clip is made out of a polycarbonate and reinforced with stainless steel. I do not worry about having my keys on this and tossing it around. My only worry is that the clip will scratch up over time; I can already see some small scratches on the clip. I would just like to say this clip is not for climbing it’s just a clip with a lightning cable. The size of the clip and price is the only negatives I could find while using this product. After first seeing the Nomad clip I did not realize how large it was; wide and height. The weight of the Nomad clip is not an issue though; even if it were a little heavier this would still not be an issue. At first look the $39.95 could detour many but if you really think about it, that price is not that bad. A good quality lightning cable usually runs around $20 and a regular carbineer could run you $5-10. Then the ability of having both of these items in one justifies the $39.95 price tag. The Nomad Clip has many uses from the carabineer clip side and always having a charger with you makes this one of my favorite tech accessories that everyone should own. This clip is available for iPhone/iPad and Micro USB.
