Not great but a good deal for $17.95

This is an origin story so it takes some time for it get going. It's about an hour before he finally puts on the Spider-Man costume and starts swinging around the city. The sequel is more fun, but for $17.95 this was worth getting. I waffled between "Average" and "Good" but the 3D made me decide "Good" was the right rating. The Sam Raimi movies were kind of better than this in my humble opinion, but they weren't in 3D. If you like Spider-Man and you like 3D it makes sense to get this DVD.

Only OK

This DVD is not really great, but it's OK. The quality of the 3D is decent. I've only watched it once, though I intend to watch it again eventually. I would have liked to see more dinosaurs rather than paleontologists and diagrams. It's educational but could've been more fun. You might want to go for it if the price is low enough. Otherwise save your money and wait for "Jurassic World 3D" to come out on DVD!

I don't see a way to edit my review, but I watched the DVD again last night and I'd give it four stars. It's actually quite good for what it is, which is an educational documentary. The information seems up to date and the graphics are good. No paleontologists (that must be another one I watched recently) but they do pull away from the dinosaurs frequently to show you computer graphics about their location and era information about the fossils.

I should add that when I bought it a couple of months ago I paid $16.99, so $24.99 looks a bit high to me when you consider it's a 50 minute documentary, and not a full length feature film. That did factor into the low rating I gave it when I saw the raised price, but that consideration all depends on your personal budget. It may eventually be on sale again.

I also want to add that this review gives it 3 1/2 stars, which sounds about right to me. I don't agree with the review that the 3D doesn't add much. To me it's all about the 3D. The 3D isn't necessarily perfect, but it's pretty consistent and solid. Without the 3D you might as well be watching a free dinosaur show on your TV.
