Alexander's Reviews

Even with its 12.9-inch Retina display, the largest and most capable iPad ever is only 6.9mm thin and weighs just 1.57 pounds. It has a powerful A9X chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, four speaker audio, advanced iSight and FaceTime HD cameras, Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity¹, iCloud, the breakthrough Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and up to 10 hours of battery life.² It also includes great apps for productivity and creativity, as well as many more incredible apps available in the App Store. And with powerful new features in iOS 9 like multitasking, iPad Pro can do things no iPad has done before.

Needs a revamp

I'm a great fan of an iPad Pro and generally of apple products. Since I had very bad experience with all of my apple PCs went kaput within the first year and a half. (had 3 MacBook pros, 2 iMacs , time capsule, currently 1 MBP, iMac, wifi2 iPhones, iPad mini and iPad Pro) I'm slowly downsizing my choice in apple products by limiting my choice to iPhones and iPads. However, the iPad Pro 12.9 inch currently I have bought 20 days ago and already started to dim by itself at unspecified intervals. Although it's not the case of automatically adjusting the brightness because I like it at max brightness and I turn off auto brightness adjustment. Nor it's the case of the night shift feature. While all the settings are in place where they supposed to be, the display dims and stays on a dim for a minute or so then it brightens up to max where it was set in first place.
I gave it a benefit of the doubt, thinking that it might somethings to do with the iOS 9.3.1but wouldn't you know, that's not the case either because my iPhone's did that too at different versions of the iOS.
My next suspicion is the hovering the finger over the display might be triggering the dimming while this unconventional feature is not listed as part of the iOS feature, since the brightness is set on max and in manual mode. The one last suspect I have that might come in to play in this matter is perhaps apple embedded this feature secretly, purposely or mistakenly whatever may be the case. Ether way I like it not.

Defificient Product

It's lacking the famous magnetic secure closure as well the flap that's designed for the reverse fold is dangling loose every time I hold the case in my hands in an open stand position. Easy to lose the balance in your hands and drop the device. It's not the same handling a larger device in iPad pro vs smaller device in iPad mini or air. I will return this as soon as I get the new one ordered from Amazon.com. Additionally, one should be aware that the exterior material of the subject case made of polyurethane that flashes for a genuine leather yet far from being a genuine leather. The price however is tagged for the genuine one.

It's a top of the line product.

I bought this item brand new in the original packaging sealed by manufacturer for $1400 off of eBay dealers. AVRX5200 and AVR7200 models are the only models in DENON that are made in Japan. The rest of the lower models are made in China and elsewhere. I bought this to replace the AVR-2311CI, when I unpacked it and lifted in my hands I immediately felt the difference in weight between the two models although the product dimension are the same. Heating is not an unusual phenomena in receivers, obviously this machine packs the state of the art technology and features. I did setup for the most part and it's working flawlessly. There are a couple of settings that needs to be changed and one of them is when I turn it on, it goes to the assigned input source (Sat/STB) for a brief moment then switches to DVD input. Then I have to manually switch back to Satellite input. I'm sure this is occurring by some conflicting settings and there's a way to corrected. I just haven't had the time to browse through the settings.
One of the reviewers complained about overheating, and put a small fan on it to cool it off. This method is not recommended because the fan will actually isolate the heat inside and create even more problems. The heat is escaped throught the vents and that's normal. The machine is designed to sustain the heat process. However, the manufacturer is advising the consumers to unplug the power source from the power outlet when the receiver is not in use. This receiver has a pass though technology built-in as well as live components such as Bluetooth, wi-fi that constantly are in use and in command. Even it you power it off from the remote control or pushing the power button on the receiver, the receiver will still work, you can actually watch the TV while the receiver is off. That's why either you have to set it up to consume less energy or just unplug it from power outlet.
Additionally, I recommend to set this receiver in an open-face console and seperate from other devices (not to set another device on top of it), to allow the heat to escape. I would not recommend to seek for solutions to chill the air. If it was necessary the manufacturer would have installed internal fans to cool the receiver. The heat usually emits from its internal amplifyer. That's normal. This particular model is made in Japan. I trust their workmanship.

Just a fancy fitness tracker
By Fixximus
After finally receiving my eagerly awaited Apple watch I was disappointed to find that not only was the watch lacking in some critical areas such as sleep monitoring and GPS, but it severely lacks in the app department. The fitness and health tracking apps with the Apple watch are leaps and bounds behind Fitbit and Jawbone. Because that was the main factor behind me dropping loads of cash for this Apple timepiece I was disappointed. Please save your money's for a rainy day.

Updates lol
April 18, 2016
Watch itself does not have the built in gps but it does use the gps of your iPhone while it's paired. And yes you need to wear the watch up on your wrist, so that way the sensor on the band will align with the sensor of your wrist pulse for accurate reading. Assuming you just wore it that way to illustrate in the picture. lol
It's a friendly device, it does however have the tendency to disappoint you from the start, due to the lack of gps. But once you get used to it you gradually begin to love it and not to compare it with other watches. Apple Watch has the style and loads of features that other watches do not pack. The gold color would look better on your beautiful wrist with dragon tattoo.

Each of the metals used to make Apple Watch (first-generation) is a custom alloy, engineered to be both beautiful and durable. Apple Watch Sport (first-generation) features anodized aluminum cases with a silver, space gray, gold, or rose gold finish. Apple Watch (first-generation) models are crafted from stainless steel or space black stainless steel. Each case is available in two sizes: 38mm and 42mm. There’s also a wide range of interchangeable bands made from a variety of materials. Apple Watch (first-generation) has breakthrough technologies like the Digital Crown, Taptic Engine, and Force Touch. And with up to 18 hours of battery life, you can use it all day long.**Requires iPhone 5 or later.

Calibration issues come in place
December 3, 2016
I had the same issue with the Apple Watch while running the heart rate not only would misread but also would pause and even disappear. What found out regarding these problems was the band that wasn't tightly bound to my wrist. What it means is that those sensors underneath the watch must contact your wrist firmly and tightly in order to read your pulse stably and accurately. If you haven't yet tried tightening it, you might want to try it, see if you get different results. It worked for me. I read some feedback when some individuals complained of the same issue while they were wearing the watch upside down. The correct position for accurate reading of the pulse recommended to wear the watch conventional way (the way your dad and his dads and their dads wore).
This watch now priced $350, that's the price only for the band. So you're getting a free Apple Watch. Hope this will be helpful.

Which provides faster network speed - built in 3G vs cell phone wifi hotspot ?

Trying to decide which would provide better iPad network performance. Buying an iPad 2 with built in 3G or using a cell phone with a wifi hotspot? Both would use the Verizon network. Also looking to campare the battery life of the tow options.
If your cellphone provider is current with the LTE network, your best choice would be the iPad wifi only saving $100 on the difference between the two iPads, and LTE is faster than 3G, while you can tether iPad with your phone disregarding the wifi part of the iPad because iPad's wifi is different from the wifi at home. You'll get the full tethering speed from the phone through your iPad's builtin wifi. At home your wifi may support 100 MBP transfer rate, but if your DSL or cable speed is only 3 MBP then 100 MBP transfer rate is just a dreamer. With phone tethering you'll get the full speed that phone has at the time being.

Which data plan is better? AT&T or Verizon?

If you're unable to conduct your own research for a plan (world wide web is broad open) you might want to consider getting back into the cage?

If I order playbook, can it work in Asia country?

Your best bet is to buy a device in the country where you live or stay most. While you might save a few bucks in short run, you'll end up spending twice for repairs and other unforeseen issues in a long run. So stick to the electronics available locally!
