The yellow composite video RCA is long enough to reach the front of just about any car/truck. The power/ground wires are not, as they expect you to ground anywhere in the rear and then tap power at your reverse tail lights. But those wires can easily be extended to run up front. When using an in-dash system, I like to power the camera off an ignition source so it's always on when the car is on. The camera will only be displayed when the vehicle is in reverse. This typically allows the picture is display a little quicker than having to wait an extra second for the camera to power up with reverse lights.
