Being in computer technology, I was pleasantly pleased with this laptop, even before I upgraded the memory to 16GB which I purchaded for about $80.00. Entirely boosting the performace evrn more, laptop willbe used by mh daughter for high school etc.

Well being I.T. I really had high hopes for this for a mid size home network, streaming numerous t.v.s as well as other connections. Unfortunately this device would only be seen if connected to the main router and not the switch as my other cloud/back up drives had in the past. which is pointless since all other computers/tablets etc on on the switch etc. I thought maybe the firmware update would help but it that was not the case. Returned this item after getting no useful help from Seagate stating what I wanted to do was impossible! Purchased the Western Digital my cloud and everything connects and does what it is suppose to do.. Very disappointed in Seagate as I have I have used them for many many years!

Well this things rocks and is worth every penny! set up a breeze, included open DNS is a big plus makes configuring your home network effortlessly for anyone! My only small issue as of yet net gear does not have firm ware in place to allow you to log in the interface via the ip.. address to change the hard settings such as passwords, and WiFi names etc. Did most of the set up on WiFi tablet, which s okay, Net gear genie app has same limitations as far as hard settings as well, not sure if it's a Windows 10 issue or not, but other than that Net gear is aware of the issue and is working on a fix! Overall a definite great purchase and a must have for great sped and home networking

Using this Audiovox CMOS2 rear observation camera's wide-angle lens, you can easily view what's behind your vehicle in selectable normal and mirror image views, enhancing safety. Five mounting options make the camera easy to install.

needed to replace/update the camera in out 99 Chevy express, Camera itself is pretty simple to install, however a bit more info on extra items would be nice. (i.e. only 70" of cable) not saying I think the item should come with 20 foot rolls but knowing what other options would/would not work would of save a lot of time. ended up using a 15 foot Sub-woofer RCA cable for the run Geek squad suggested) since best buy does not carry any single RCA video cables over 6'! they have all 3 in 20 foot sections but the cost and the extra wires not worth it. (actually in this van should of went 20 feet.) camera looks good, but after I washed the van the first time the next day i noticed a foggy view, looking at the camera looks like moisture got in some how? returned it and installed the replacement, not wanting to take a chance i ran a small bit of silicone around the rim prior to taking of the protected film covering.
this would be great for a smaller application/vehicle, even the Geek squad guy was confused why I needed such a long cable. I was like just running the cable through the rear door into the harness area took almost all of the supplied cable. the van from front bumper to rear bumper is about 16 feet long, and to run the cable correctly, actually the only way the supplied cable was way to short.

We purchased this BlueRay DVD player to replace our old outdated one. We are very happy with how fast it loads movies and the ease of navigation, plus all the added features. However, we have noticed issues with the wireless internet connection. Most of the time it is fine, but occasionally we have to go into the settings and reconnect. Also, it is sometimes slow to load videos from YouTube, etc. All in all though, a good DVD player for the money.

If your wireless drops occasionally it usually means to many other wireless devices have tried/or are connected causing conflicts, either change the address on your router or assign a permanent address. if not the only option would be to hard wire it with a ethernet cable

forgot to add that if you are have loading problems that again is a sign of to many wireless devices, Also to stream basic content in SD format you need at least 9 MB internet at a minimum. wireless you would probably want more like 18+ MB as packets tend to get lost over the air. Hard wire is by far the best option for any streaming device!

Can this use the same SSID as my existing router?
So i won't have to change networks on devices when the signal gets weak as I move away from the main router.
You could be would not recommend it. As far as changing networks almost every wireless device has the option to connect to a more desired/stronger network so to speak, I would just be sure that is turned on on your devices and let them and the network decide which one is best, Just because you have 5 bars of Wireless on one network does not necessarily mean you will have better performance/speed than on one that gives you only 3 bars. those 5 bars may only be broadcasting in the 2.4Ghz band and only give you XX MB speed or not providing any network connection just SSID where the other could be faster and better. Always let your device(s) decide is the best option

Can I configure this unit as my primary router and use my AirPort Extreme (5th gen) as a repeater?
Hi - now that most of my devices have ac capabilities, and having heard good things about this router, I'm hoping that someone (more network savvy than myself) could help me in determining if I could use this router with my "old" (5th generation AirPort Extreme) used as repeader? I live in an apartment complex on the ground floor and would like to both boost my WiFi strength in the apartment (for a wireless connection to my TV) and to be able to receive a signal for those times when I take my notebook or tablet outside (no more than 30 feet away from my unit to the deck outside).
I don't know that I'm explaining this very well, but... Netgear in den, hard wired to a couple of devices and AirPort Extreme in bedroom to boost signal to wireless TV in bedroom and, some 30 feet away, the communal giant deck.
Do-able? Any other suggestions.

Being your Airport Extreme is pretty old, I would have to say you may run into some connection/speed issues trying to use it as a extender for this router. as the Airport really is not a typical extender just another fancy name for a router from Apple supposedly to make your WiFi connections better on Apple products. being a older unit it would not offer you the combined signal strength that your new Net-gear does. You do not need A Apple router for apple products since WiFi is a worldwide standard. It just gives you better options is all. Your new Night hawk has a setting for making your router be better at streaming Music from Itunes etc. just needs to be turned on in settings, to get better reception upstairs or outside either mover your router? to a better position, or Purchase a decent WiFi Extender that I listed below.
There are other options depending on your budget, but since you purchased the Nighthawk I assume you got it for the speed etc. these 2 listed items should compliment your new Nighthawk router very well and ease of installation.

How about DSL
does anyone know how the Nighthawk R8000 on DSL
if your actually talking about the old DSL protocols then this would be a waste of money as you will never get what it is designed to do.. If your referring to the more modern type DSl/Fiber like Uverse or Verizon I cannot speak for Verizon but for Uverse Max 45 MB internet (all that is available to me in my area) I have no issues with speed etc. wifi speed test on my desktop with 10/100/1000 wireless l peak around 42 -47 MB hard wired I peak 46 - 48 MB . This router will not boost the speed your paying for so if you have 16 MB internet that is pretty much where you will be in most cases.

Xbox One Users: Strict, Moderate, or Open NAT
It's been a struggle with my wireless in my house. I've spent hours trying to port forward, DMZ, or even turn off firewalls to get open NAT at times. I tried replacing my Belkin with a Netgear WNDR4300 and NAT was open, but the range was terrible, and data speeds disconnected, and dropped off all of the time.
I just want to know if those who use this with Xbox One are getting open NAT.

so far I have not even fine tuned any of the setting for my Xbox 1 and I have no issues like I had previously on my old net gear with speed etc. From what I saw in some of the settings while setting up for my home network looks like this does a lot of the work for us in gaming etc. being a Uverse subscriber it has always been a royal pain to get the Uverse gateway to port forward any ports etc. There are ways to do some of them but Att is very stingy with knowledge etc. But like I said 7 days of using this router behind my Uverse and absolutely no issues!

is this product compatible with a Jeep Cherokee 2014 Radio with screen?
If your jeep radio has a input for video on the back of the unit then yes. if not then no..

Wifi range extender or booster pairing
Whats the best wifi extender to pair with this device? Im still not getting 100% coverage in the basement for some odd reason.
not sure of good option, I would think this thing would be more than enough?! Mine is in the center of the house (1700 sf) I have 100% bar in every room, no issues, I have 100% even in the middle of the street which is about 60 yards from where the router is. practically in range for about 100 yards any direction.. I know Asus makes some pretty good extenders, but most extenders will only repeat/push what they are receiving. maybe try relocating the nighthawk make sure nothing else is interfering with it.

Does this player support Netflix Closed Captioning?
Not all Blu ray player are capable of showing the CC when the captioning is available from Netflix. Will this model support Closed Captions FROM Netflix. (they all show CC on the DVD or Blu ray discs)
if the player itself supports CC from regualr disk and BD disk, there should be no reason CC from Netflix is not also supported, typically whatever the stand alone item supports what ever apps are with it will work as well/\.

Is there an option to install the web browser app to this model
The H6500 shows it comes with this feature but the H5900 does not and I want to know if the browser can be installed and if so does it function well?? Maybe the higher model has better processor, we are un decided since we do not need 3D or 4K.. Wife now owns a tab4 10.1 and we are upgrading for mirroring and watching streaming content to it via wi-fi..
No options such as the Smart hub browser you see on Samsung TV;s and higher end players, are not able to be added to lower end items, for a host of reasons, like Memory, firmware, processor, storage space for drivers/software etc. the reason the higher ends cost more is because they have higher capacity to run the extra apps
