No better picture for the price, seriously!

Among the many LED 4K displays available from different manufacturers, a large percentage of them are edge-lit (which means the light that illuminates the screen comes from the edges or borders) and thus exhibit less-than-stellar black levels and brightness as a result.
This display is not one of those. It uses LEDs arranged in a grid or matrix behind the entirety of the screen that will change brightness according to what's happening on screen. This means if a portion of the screen is displaying something dark like a night sky then the LEDs behind that portion will turn way down or even off which results in absolutely phenomenal black levels.
With a professionally measured black performance of 0.018 cd/m2 you will not get better performance from a display outside of super-expensive OLED displays that exhibit 0 cd/m2. In fact, this display shares very nearly the same black level performance (0.003 cd/m2 difference) and contrast ratio as the significantly more expensive Samsung KS9500 series!
If you're looking for the absolute best picture without spending the big bucks, you really can't do any better.

My unit might have just been defective in some way but it did not behave consistently with other reviews. It could not even handle a single web page loading without stuttering and freezing. Returned it

Even the nicest product lines have defective units from time to time. It just seems funny to me that you would leave a bad review for a product that was DOA, insinuating that every one of these laptops was the same. If you had got another as a replacement I think you would see that it's not a 1 star product.

Can you use your cable remote to turn the tv off and on?
Yes, just use the remote programming code for a Vizio TV.

Is it good for watching/playing/editing minecraft
You can watch and edit Minecraft videos, but you won't be playing much Minecraft on it as the graphics card is not powerful enough to handle the game.

What is the size of the video card? Can i play nba 2k16?
It's an integrated Intel GPU, which means it won't be able to play 2k16 at even the lowest settings at an acceptable framerate.

Does this laptop have an HDMI port? It's not listed but it kind of looks like it does in the picture
Yes, it has one HDMI and one VGA connection.

can fallout 4 work for this if not which laptop would be better
No, not even at lowest settings. You want something with a dedicated GPU from Nvidia or AMD/Radeon--integrated Intel GPUs just aren't up to snuff for gaming loads like FO4.

Can you expand on the 128GB solid state hard drive by using a 64GB or 128GB micro SD or regular sized SD card?
Yes, you can. It's a great way to expand storage for photos, music, and documents. SD cards won't be as fast as the SSD, so only put stuff you're not accessing several times a day on the SD otherwise it'll slow you down.

I am looking for a laptop and I do appreciate all of the questions and answers here...this is how I am educating myself. So, Thank You! Is this a dectent laptop for the money. Any help would be appreciated!
This is an excellent laptop for the money. The Skylake Core i3 is very zippy, and combined with the 8GB of RAM and 128GB Solid State Drive, makes starting up/shutting down, opening apps and files, and multitasking nearly instantaneous. Perfect for Office, standard photo editing/media creation, internet browsing, video/music streaming, and casual gaming.
Most computers in this price range have Celeron or Pentium processors, whereas this one has a 6th Gen i3 that nearly doubles the performance of those others. Also, many have 4 or 6GB of RAM whereas you get a full 8GB here.
The one downside is the size of the SSD--it's extremely fast, but 128GB may not be enough for you. If that's the case, you can always order a 500GB SSD from Newegg or somewhere and replace the 128GB SSD in this laptop relatively easily.

Battery charger
I recently lost my battery charger to my laptop. Is there any way that I can purchase one from the manufacturer? I have been back to best buy, but they could not find a way to get one for me.
