This phone is an excellent value. Sure, you could impress your friends with a flagship Samsung, or LG product. But unless you're doing side-by-side comparisons, the camera is not going to make a big difference. For most everyday tasks, this Moto G4 excels.
The screen images are bright and sharp. I have small hands, but 5.5" still does not feel large, maybe because it seems lighter than other phones of that size. The battery life is great. I can go a whole day of moderate usage without recharging.
Unless you're coming from a flagship phone, you probably won't miss any feature in this phone. The only exception in my mind is that the phone does not support NFC. If that's not a deal-breaker, then you have to consider whether the features in a flagship are worth the extra $400-$500 that you would pay. I also believe that this Moto G4 compares very favorably with other phones in the low- to mid-priced segment.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can I use this phone on my current Verizon account and just do an on line hardware swap out of my old phone. With no changes to my present monthly charges.
I did this with AT&T -- I moved the SIM card from my old phone to this new phone. I didn't have to go to AT&T to do it. I imagine that other carriers are the same -- the service is billed based on your talk, text, and data usage on whatever phone the SIM card is plugged in to.

Yes, there is a hotspot on the phone.

Yes, it has a microSD slot for up to 128GB of additional memory.

Pokémon GO runs just fine on this phone.

One more ?: Another seller has this, but it says it will come with "advertising on the screen". Will your Best Buy version have an advertising feed on the homepage? Moto G (4th Gen.) Unlocked - Black - 16GB
There is no advertising at all on this phone from Best Buy. I can guess what retailer that other seller is going through, if that phone has advertising.

Will the Moto G (4th Gen.) Unlocked - Black - 16GB - HAVE A HOTSPOT? Will it come with a Verizon SIM card?
Yes, the phone has a hotspot. It doesn't come with a SIM card. You would get the SIM card from Verizon when you sign up for service with them.

There is only one SIM slot in this phone.
