Though the cost of this lens is a bit high for the casual camera user with small budgets for camera equipment, it doesn't take away from it being a fantastic go to lens that can stay mounted for a variety of photography moments.
For the photography buffs out there, compare images taken using same settings, with other lenses images with lower than F4 stop and you might not be disappointed at all. Note that it's aperture blades are circular and the lens is a fixed Zoom lens with constant fixed F4 stop aperture, 24-70mm range. You'll see that it's cost is reasonable for a higher quality lens. Lenses that are fixed at lower Fstops with similar comparable specifications will generally always cost you lots more.
I'm not implying that other reviews didn't consider what I'm about to say but if any vingetting is noticed or image appears a little weak towards the edges it might not be a matter of the lens lacking quality but rather it could be because of what circular aperture blades do, not that it produces vingetting. Some other factors could be the camera settings such as focal range and metering and existing conditions surrounding the image you're trying to capture. I know very little about photography but these are my opinions in my review of this product.
