Hear the full spectrum of sound and watch outstanding video with this Denon A/V receiver. It gives you up to 7.2-channel sound so that you can get audio all around you, and it supports up to 4K ultra-HD video resolutions for incredible detail. Multiple HDMI ports give you plenty of options for connecting TVs to this Denon A/V receiver.

Was working great before a firmware update
on March 26, 2017

This replaced my AVR-X1100W. After setup and adjustment, the receiver had been working great. 20 days into ownership, it prompted that a firmware update was available. I let it install and returned a couple of hours later. I decided to play some smooth jazz. At med-low volume, I switched between the different sound modes and each worked fine except the receiver abruptly shut off when I selected Multi Ch Stereo. I turned it back on and tried again and the same thing happened. I turned the receiver back on, turned the volume all the way down, switched to Multi Ch Stereo, and slowly increased the volume. When it got to level 26 the amp blew with a loud pop and the receiver was dead. Multi Ch Stereo worked fine before the firmware update. I'd only owned the receiver 20 days but it was outside of the 15 day store return policy so I opted to use the Geek Squad Protection rather than manufacturer's warranty for a quicker turnaround and to give myself the option of buying a different product if it couldn't be repaired. I was apprehensive about getting another X1300W, especially considering my X1100W suffered from the LCD display fuse issue that many owners experienced. It couldn't be repaired so I got a store credit which I used to buy a model up.

Works good but there's room for improvements

Purchased this and the Connect Wi-Fi Adapter a couple of days later. Installation took only a few minutes. As the instructions state, don't over tighten the screws else the wings on the August lock won't have space to close and secure it to the mounting plate. Calibration was just as fast and easy. A lock software update took a few minutes but completed without issue. Setup in my Xfinity Home security app was quick and easy. So far, I've had no Bluetooth or wifi communication issues. Over Bluetooth, there's the inherent brief connection delay. Should be obvious but, if you have dual locks on your door, this will not work as intended for you. Ditto if your deadbolt doesn't lock and unlock smoothly because of a door alignment or other issue. On to a few desired improvements.
I like the idea of the EverLock auto re-locking function but in reality it can lock you out of the house because it simply re-locks the door at the user selected interval whether the door was unlocked with the app or manually. Have it set to the default 1 minute or whatever time you select, step outside without your phone or other device, and forget to re-enter before time is up, you're locked out. It would be better if the EverLock timer worked in conjunction with the location-based features that the Auto-Unlock function uses to only unlock the door when a connected smartphone is within range outside of the house but not to unlock the door when the device is within range inside of the house. Basically, only engage EverLock if a connected smartphone is detected within Bluetooth range outside of the house. It's not a perfect solution because of scenarios where the device might be out of range and, without wifi connectivity using the optional module, it can't alert the device that the door is unlocked. Still, I hope it at least becomes a user selectable option when a Connect Wi-Fi Adapter is set up.
Guest List setup can be better explained to the guest in the text message that they receive. As it stands, The message simply tells them they've been invited and provides a link to install the app. They're then left to figure out how to set up their account because it's not obvious that they need to create an account by entering their phone number.
Finally, Internet access to your account would be very useful should you lose or not have access to your smartphone and needs to manage door access or your settings.

Firmware update could make it even better
on September 23, 2014

Unlike some early adopters, my receiver had no problems with the firmware update. I called Denon USA Support before purchasing and asked about the issue. I was told all updates come from corporate HQ in Japan and that the website access issue had been resolved. The Audyssey speaker setup was spot on so no one speaker catches my attention but rather they all blend in harmoniously. Of course good speakers help. Music (Jazz, Rock, R&B, and Hip-Hop) playback with the right sound setting is crisp and accurate. Regular TV program playback sounds good. While the volume level seems like it needs to be turned up too high in a range of 0 - 99, I noticed that I could dial it back because the dialogue is very clear even when I walked into an adjacent room. Next, I need to play a really good cinema sound check movie.
My Best Buy number: 0781139579
What's great about it: Discrete amp circuitry, Audyssey speaker setup very accurate, sound quality, ECO mode
What's not so great: Onscreen menu, volume range, DLNA doesn't support video playback, Intermittent issues with DLNA audio playback, remote
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a cable modem. You need to look for a DSL modem that is compatible with your DSL service provider.

Comcast modem to a Actiontec DSL wireless modem

I am moving to Comcast Broad band from a DSL internet connection. Can I connect my new Comcast modem into the DSL wireless modem/router and access the internet wirelessly from the Actiontec DSL without purchasing another router to attach to the Comcast modem?
This cable modem with built-in wireless router will replace your old DSL modem. It's the edge gateway device that must be plugged into the coax cable and registered with Comcast to bring Internet service into your house. Comcast lists compatible approved devices and info on their website (https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/list-of-approved-cable-modems/).

I didn't see a subwoofer input wire connect, can someone tell me where this is?
Pre Out #1 is an RCA subwoofer output. There's also an optical TV audio output.
