After multiple hours of research and budget options, I decided to purchase this product. My machine is custom, and towards the higher end of the spectrum. My ISP is Google Fiber, and my speed tops out around 980 down 980 up depending on the time of day. My router is the Asus AC 2400 wireless router, and sits about 3 feet with no blockage from my computer.. I'm also well versed in routing and switching and consider myself to be good at it, as it is what I do for a living. With that being said, I was excited to install this network adapter. As a few of the review replies from the company state, you download drivers from their website and let windows install them. After following those directions step by step, to the letter, my wireless speed is 35 down/ 6 up. I've spent about 5 hours on multiple forums (including TP link's, and have seen masses of people complaining that their Windows 10 drivers are garbage. This network adapter does not work as advertised. I have tried many different drivers, everything on the TP link website and many different generic Broadcom driver sets which were recommended by many forums. TP link forums are littered with people which have complained that they still have not released a driver that works fully with Windows 10. Even after trying all the different drivers, this adapter will not achieve speeds any larger than 35down/6up. It is advertised to be capable of 1.3gbs on the 5Ghz band, which obviously my router is FULLY capable of. With my ISP giving me speeds of well over 900 down and up, it is disappointing that I have wasted my time with this junk equipment.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Please do not waste your time with this adapter. It is WAY more of a headache than it should be.
