The title of this movie says it all in ... "Adventure"! Just imagine this as an old fashion "Hollywood Western" but set in Australia ... and with high-heels & sequins! It has it all ... travel, comedy, tragedy, drama, adventure ... and all that with Academy Award winning costumes! And for the record, no three "straight" actors have ever done a better job playing gay characters. The extras on the disc are almost as interesting as the main feature. Definitely ... people with left feet made this movie!

We had really liked "The Little Mermaid" ever since it had been first released in the theaters. The mix of the story and musical numbers was perfect ... not only for children, but for all ages. Now, with the addition of the 3D element it has raised it up to a whole other level. Another reason for making our purchase of 3D components worthwhile.

For me, Ryan Reynolds is one of the most underrated actors of our generation. Starting out in mostly comedies (and very very good at those), I don't think he has been given his "dues" as not only a great comedic actor but hardly at all for his "serious" work. Here in this movie, he not only matches Denzel Washington (a high quality actor) scene for scene, but surpasses him in emotional ability. To be fair ... Reynolds part may have been the slightly more emotionally charge one in this script. Both actors stepped up to their respective challenges to make this a fast paced, hard hitting, original movie.

Helen Mirren steals the entire movie.

I was apprehensive to buy this movie (having not seen it in the theatre), because in my opinion Alfred Hitchcock is one of the greatest directors of all time. Plus I was a huge fan of the TV series. And though Anthony Hopkins is one of the finest actors working today, he did only an adequate job portraying the great Hitch. I was glad that this movie was only about making Psycho which was interesting, but Helen Mirren stole the entire movie.

I have liked the Riddick movies from the first one. It is great to get all the series in one set with the quality picture provide by the Blu-Ray upgrade.

Fun to watch past action heroes together.

Though it was nice to see some of these past action heroes at work again, we found the story line all too predictable. It was like watching Rambo with big name sidekicks. I'm sure that someone who watches the lives of some of these stars would be aware of the "all" the "inside" jokes that were included in this movie, but I'm sure we missed a lot of them.

I am a big fan of "Clash of the Titans" and "300" which is why I purchased this movie ... and I was not disappointed. Beautifully photographed, well acted, good storyline, amazing costumes, fantastic sets, effects used to perfection ... not much more to ask of any movie. The somewhat "dark & brooding" nature of the film only added to the charm for me. And though a staple performance from Mickey Rourke, plus an amazing job done by Henry Cavill, it was so great for me to finally see Stephen Dorff in a role that matched this amazing actors talents ... he steals every scene in which he appears because of his amazing acting abilities.

I have really liked all the "Narnia" movies, but this one went above and beyond all its predecessors. I did miss the older sister & brother (whom only appear very briefly in this film) but the "pain in the butt" cousin was a fantastic new addition that almost made you forget about the other missing family members. The 3D effects are top notch and complimented the film greatly.

Second time around falls a little short.

I enjoyed the first "Hoodwinked" ... just like the first, this second installment is a little stiff and rough around the edges of the animation ... bordering on "the average geeky nerd made this on his home computer". But I liked the mesh of the "fairytale" characters in the first ... I think the writing fell a little short on this second effort.

I originally bought this because we got a brand new 3D movie player system and I wanted any 3D movies I could find ... cheaply. I'm not willing to pay the $30 to $50 some of the companies are asking for them ... I can wait until sales or clearance. So, I bought this film, having never heard anything about it, because it was in a clearance sale. But ... it turned out to be a pretty good little film. The sets were interesting, the story was acceptable, the actors did a good job ... AND the dancing was amazing! I am happy to keep this one in my permeant collection.
